Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Holland passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026 (ironically also her favorite artist Elvis’ birthday) at the age of 81, at HIA Heathers House in Fargo ND. Born on October 25, 1944 in Fargo ND, Betty was the daughter of John and Alice (Fitzgerald) Baumgardner.

Betty graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1962 and married Dennis Holland in 1963. They were married 19 years. Her daughter Tracie was born in 1966, and son Christopher was born in 1970. Her two children were the lights of Betty’s life. She dedicated her professional life to Bearings and Drives, where she worked with diligence until her retirement in 2010.

Betty was a fierce prayer warrior- holding up her family and friends in prayer every single day. A true lover of life, Betty found joy in her winters she spent in Arizona. She had a passion for games, particularly watching football, and playing pinochle and Top Dollar. She loved the vibrant and fun atmosphere of Las Vegas and other casinos. Betty was known for her lively spirit, her ability to light up a room, and the warmth with which she entertained friends and family. As a member of a large family of twelve, she possessed an energetic nature that remained until the end of her life.

Betty is survived by her children- Tracie (Dave) Rheault & Chris (Heidi) Holland; 10 grandchildren- Tyler (Emily) Holland, Ciera (Kwaician) Traylor, Riley Holland, Trinity Holland, Jesse (Erika) Rheault, Alexis (Keane) Nelson, Faith Clark, Anna Clark, Jordan Clark & Sarah Clark; 5 great-grandchildren- Idella and Uriah Traylor, Ellis Rheault, Sedona Nelson & Elijah Clark; siblings- Kathleen Sauvageau, Darlene (Howard) Bradsteen, Frank (Phyllis) Baumgardner, Pat (Marcia) Baumgardner, Mike (Sharon) Baumgardner, Russ (Sylvia) Baumgardner, Jimmy Baumgardner, Mark (Bonnie) Baumgardner, brother-in-law Don Henning, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, siblings- Faith (Jack) Lewis, Karen Henning, Jackie (Charlotte) Baumgardner, and in-laws Roger Sauvageau and Rocky Baumgardner.
