Ernest Koppang

Ernest Koppang, Halstad, MN, passed away June 16, 2005 at the Halstad Living Center at the age of 75. Ernest was born on January 11, 1930 in Caledonia, ND to Louis and Myrtle (Stigen) Koppang. He grew up and received his education in this area. Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he returned to North Dakota where he worked for the Traill County Highway Department for a number of years. Ernest then moved to Tacoma, Washington where he worked. He later returned to North Dakota and worked for area farmers until his retirement. He has resided at the Halstad Living Center for the past few years. Ernest is survived by two brothers, Merlin of West Fargo, ND and Dennis of Hillsboro, ND and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Roger.
