You will be missed
I am sad I did not find any Grovers before seeing this. You see I ived down on South Terrace in Fargo. I was Sandra Nelson, now Lindstrom. We were about six houses apart if my memory is correct. Our home was 17. Mrs Yestebow lived in the next house and Moirs were 27, The next house was Narvesons, then a duplex with the Quasts and later Hasbargers. Not sure who all lived there. The big white house with the lovely porch was what I remember to be the Woosicks. My memory is strainning. Was it then LeAnn Schelscke followed by the Grovers. As kids, we knew where everyone lived and enjoyed trick or treating yearly. I beieve one of the boys in your family wanted to be a priest. Did that ever happen? How I would love to hear more about all the family kids. I would sk if any of you remember my dad showing movies in our back yard and mom making popcorn for all!
My heart breaks for you. I was born in 1951 so very close to your brothers age. I pray you will have the strength to see death s the next journey and not a sadness. If anyone wants to connect and visit, I can be found at Sandi.lindstrom@yahoo.com.
Hugs!
May you rest in Peace. I am another south terrace neighbor (#1) and a personal friend of Genes brother John, but I knew all the family. I have spent many hours at the the Grover’s house. I did go to St, Mary’s School and church as they did.
So sad to hear of Geno’s passing! I worked with him for over 20 years and he taught me everything I knew, I even took over his job when he left Gaffaneys & threw a great retirement party for him. He was a wonderful man and he loved his dogs!! He knew the office supply industry inside out and was definitely my mentor! God Bless his memory – until we meet again!! Barb
My wife and I send our sympathies to you and your family in this time of loss of your loved family member.
I first met Eugene when he first transferred to Gaffaneys in Grand Forks. At the time i thought to myself, what is this guy going to be like since he was coming up to become my boss. Well even though Eugene or Grover as he became known by his friends here in Grand Forks was 7 years older than me we became not only fellow workers but very good friends through the years.
Eugene always kept his yard very clean and loved his flowers and garden. After he left Gaffaneys I would stop over and we would have a pop on his deck and talk about days gone by. As time went on we lost touch with each other and many years have passed since our last visit.
Eugene (Grover), will always be remembered as a good co-worker and friend and will be missed by many of the people that were fortunate to have met him during his lifetime. You have our sincere sympathies. God Bless
