Eunice Meyer

Eunice Mabel Meyer, 86, of Hillsboro, ND, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Hillsboro Medical Center. Eunice (Bjelde) Meyer was born on January 2, 1921 in Georgetown, MN to Christ and Christine (Quam) Bjelde. The family later moved to Finley, ND. There Eunice was confirmed in Christ at the Finley Evangelical Lutheran Church on June 9, 1935. Eventually, the family moved to Hillsboro where she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1938. Eunice married Gilbert Meyer on January 2, 1942. They farmed in the area until his retirement in 1979 when they moved off the farm into Hillsboro. Gilbert died in 1982. Eunice was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was also active in local homemaker groups. However her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Joanne Watson, Richfield, MN, and son Rodney (Jeanne) Meyer, Hillsboro, ND; four grandsons, and one granddaughter, Mike (Mandy) Watson, Elko, MN, Matthew Meyer, Fargo, ND, Nathan Meyer, Dell Rapids, SD, Christopher Meyer, Hillsboro, ND, and Amanda Meyer, Burnsville, MN. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Levi and Audrey Watson, and Garrett Meyer; her sister Florence Lovas, Hillsboro, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; two sisters and five brothers.
