Gerald (Gary) Arthur Carlsrud, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home in Fargo, North Dakota.
Gary was born on October 16, 1947, to Kenneth Lawrence and Geneva Francis (Ernst) Carlsrud. He was raised in Rothsay, Minnesota, and went on to attend junior college. Gary married Diane Marie Sundby on November 27, 1992.
Gary worked as a CAD Drafter for more than 30 years at Ulteig Engineers. He was then employed by Here, a Nokia business, as a Tech Specialist II until he retired.
In his prime, Gary was an avid bowler, often belonging to several leagues concurrently. He supported these leagues as Secretary and by being a member of the Board of Directors. Gary participated in many national tournaments and was inducted into the Fargo-Moorhead USBC Hall of Fame in 2003. When not bowling, Gary enjoyed golf and slow-pitch softball.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Geneva, and his brother Douglas Carlsrud.
He is survived by his spouse Diane; children Andrew, Austin, and Alexander Carlsrud; siblings LuAnn Welsh, Lanny (Pamela) Carlsrud, Steve (Karen) Carlsrud, Kevin (Connie) Carlsrud, Colin (Nancy) Carlsrud, and Denise (Jay) Runyon; sister-in-law Marlys Carlsrud; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

So sorry for your loss. I always admired Gary. He was very good athlete and such person RIP Cousin Gary!

Gary was a highlight of my time working at All Star Bowl many years ago. Such a great guy and he always had a smile on his face. Thinking of his family at this time.

From the Barnesville Class of 1965, We will miss Gary at our 60 year reunion this month. Greetings to his family.

What comes to me is that Gary had a life well lived. What a blessing. I knew Gary when we were little kids. I was the oldest of 8 children. Gary’s age. My mom was sister to Gary’s dad. Thanks to all for sharing memories. RIP Gary.
