Born in: Hamburg, North Dakota
Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Jerry, 77, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice after a 10 year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Jerry was born in 1948 to Marvin and Luella Link. He spent his entire childhood on the family farm near Hamburg, North Dakota. He learned a strong work ethic on the farm, helping with chores, milking cows and repairing machinery. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix.

He attended school in Hamburg for a few years until it closed. He finished his schooling in Fessenden, graduating in 1966. He played with the basketball team all through high school. He would tell you that his greatest accomplishment in high school was being part of the basketball team that played in the state tournament, taking 2nd place.

His love for farming led him to NDSU, where he studied and graduated with a degree in mechanized agriculture in 1970. Upon graduating, he worked in various jobs until settling in with the real estate company of Bob Frissell. It was Bob who encouraged Jerry to become a licensed real estate appraiser. In 1983, Jerry and Neal Eriksmoen founded Appraisal Services, where Jerry worked until his retirement in 2015.

It was also in 1983 that Jerry and Patricia were united in marriage.

In his free time, Jerry enjoyed family time with Pat and their children, whether it was on the lake fishing, hunting back at the farm, playing basketball at the “Y” or just hanging out in the garage.

Their 42 year marriage was founded on a strong Christian faith, one that got them through the ups and downs of life.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Luella and his mother-in-law Grace and father-in-law William. He is survived and mourned by his wife and children, his brother Norman and sister-in-law Margie and many nieces and nephews.

By the saving grace of Jesus, Jerry, in faith, has been promised a place in heaven. To God be the glory.

Any non designated monetary gifts will be given to the Micheal Jay Fox Foundation for Parkinsons and American Heroes Outdoors. In lieu of flowers please give to either one of these organizations.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I completely enjoyed my conversations with Jerry and will greatly miss him. We had many conversations about deer hunting in 2K2 and 2L. My deepest condolences go out to Pat and family. Know that Jerry is now in Jesus’ arms provided by His sacrifice on the cross. May He also give you comfort in this difficult time.

  2. Jerry was our neighbor at the lake and we miss him dearly. Best neighbor you could ask for. So helpful when we moved in, helping us to get to know the area and volunteering Patrick (aka King Triton of Long Lake) to come to the rescue in times of need. Jerry exuded a spirit of kindness, peace, patience, goodness and contentment which was contagious. He has a wonderful family. We are praying for God’s comfort during this time of mourning the loss of a great man.

  3. Pat and family, I was sad to hear that Jerry had passed away. His pain is gone and he will be getting a new body through the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ! We had alot of fun playing softball and playing basketball together at the Y and then stopping at Old Broadway for a schooner or two with Dwight. Lots of good memories to draw from especially after he met you Pat! You and your family awe in my thoughts and prayers. Lee Olson Tioga ND
