Gladys S. “Happy” McFarlane, 95, formerly of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Gladys S. Wilt was born August 11, 1930, in Mahnomen, MN, the third child of Evelyn (Andrea) and Joseph Wilt. She attended school at Jesse Country School in Mahnomen County.
Gladys married the love of her life, John McFarlane on August 30, 1958, in Bloomington, MN. John passed away on April 15, 2000.
Gladys worked for Donaldson’s Department Store and Williams Steel and Hardware before retiring after 40 years.
Gladys loved playing cards, golfing, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, visiting with family and friends, and happy hours in her garage or gazebo.
Gladys is survived by and will be dearly missed by her sister Rosella Kolrud, Fargo; nieces and nephews, Joanne (Arden) Lemley, West Fargo, ND, Larry (Brenda) Freyholtz, Fargo, Edward (Trish McLaughlin) Wilt, Fargo, Richard (Laurie) Wilt, Otsego, MN, Arlen (Cheryl) Jallo, Marcola, OR, Laurie (Brenda) Jallo Gig Harbor, WA, Jeanette (Paul) Stock, Buffalo, ND, Clifford (Ana) Wilt Northport, FL, her great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, and her faithful furry companion Luckey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; brother Edward Wilt; brother and sisters-in-law Clarence & Edith Wilt and Lyle and Liz Wilt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella & Arnold Jallo and Iris & Donald Gust; brother-in-law Arthur Kolrud; and nephews Dean Jallo and Theodore Wilt.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, with visitation one hour prior.
