Gloria Ann Blotsky, 85, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Eventide in Fargo.

Gloria was born on July 26, 1940, in Carrington, North Dakota, to Stephen and Rose Wetzstein. She was the youngest of four siblings. In 1949, her family moved to Fargo, where she later graduated from Shanley High School in 1958.

On October 3, 1959, Gloria was united in marriage to Jake Blotsky Jr. Together, they built a life centered on family, and hard work. While raising their family, Gloria and Jake proudly owned and operated Dakota Muffler/Exhaust Pro for more than 35 years.

Gloria had a generous heart and a deep love for others. She volunteered her time at St. Anthony’s throughout her life and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles, where she gave her time to many events, including the annual Muscular Dystrophy Marathon. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially her weekly bowling league with her girlfriends, where laughter, friendship, and memories were shared for many years.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyful and challenging times and bringing her lasting comfort and strength.

Gloria’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Brenda (Keith) Strom, Shelly Thompson, Steve (Dorinda) Blotsky, and Todd (Erin) Blotsky; her grandchildren, Lindsey (Kris) Warren, Molly (Miran) Milovanovic, Justin (Derek) Strom, Janessa (Lindsay) DeTienne, Ashley (Marcus) Skonieczny, Ruben Blotsky, Haley Blotsky, Jake (Aren) Blotsky, Braden Meyer, Olivia Blotsky, and Isaac Blotsky; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-laws, Barbara Wetzstein, Pam Blotsky, Jim (Linnea) Blotsky, and Jane (Bill) Hubert as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Blotsky Jr.; her parents, Stephen and Rose Wetzstein; her sisters, Margaret and Theresa; her brothers, Leo and Steve; and her in-laws, Jake and Regina Blotsky, Germaine Turner Mulvaney, Lorraine Martin, Melvin Blotsky, and Dick and Darlene Dahlquist.

Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew her.

  1. See You on The Other side my beautiful Aunt..Guide us and Protect us as We walk on this Planet without you..infinity Aunt Gloria ❤️

  2. I am one of the Holy Cross volunteers for the Wednesday services at Eventide. I enjoyed many wonderful conversations with Gloria over the years. She fondly spoke of St. Anthony’s. Some days she would be sad and crying and I would say, “Are you having a bad day.” And she would nod her head but I and the other volunteers would assure her that she was in the right place to receive Jesus and she would smile. I saw her decline over the years, yet she would come to the services as often as she could and was at Mass shortly before she died. Reading her obituary gave me an insight to a younger woman and all she accomplished. She earned her reward. She will be missed.

  3. Wonderful woman, condolences 🙏

  4. My deepest condolences to Shelly and her entire family. She will be missed. Hugs and prayers to you all.

  5. I met Mrs. Blotsky at St. Anthony’s in Fargo. She was always kind and was a wonderful role model. She had beautiful children and I became close friends with Shelly and Brenda. By the grace of God we still keep in touch. I offer my deepest sympathy and will keep Gloria and the family in my prayers. May she be at peace with our Lord in heaven.

  6. My condolences to Steve and the entire family. I have a lot of good memories, Gloria was a very kind person.
