James Edward Reynolds, 84, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at his home under the care of Hospice.

Jim was born on February 26, 1941, in Fargo to Bernard and Bernice (Jacobson) Reynolds. He attended Fargo Central High School and, at the age of 17, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned his GED during boot camp. His service took him to various locations, including Japan, North Carolina, and San Diego.

Following his military service, Jim returned to Fargo before briefly relocating to California, where he married the love of his life, Sandra Hoaby, on July 28, 1962, at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Inglewood. Together, they raised four children across several states, including California, Utah, and Wyoming, before finally settling in North Dakota.

Jim worked for the United States Postal Service, from which he retired in 2001. He is remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Theresa (Greg) Sayler, ReNae Mathison, Daniel (Sandy) Reynolds, and Jeffrey (Shannon) Reynolds; his brother, Bernard (Renae) Reynolds; as well as ten grandchildren: Denise (Mike) Knight, Kaitlin (Ronnie) Casado, Cassie (Tammy) Mathison, Tyler Mathison, Kiersten Crozier, Brittany Reynolds, Bailey Reynolds, Jimmy (Emma) Reynolds, Shandi Reynolds, and Jack Reynolds. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Aunika, Jeremiah, and Luxe Reynolds; Lincoln and London Knight; Stella Casado; Margaret, Linda Lou, Felix, and Josiah Wallette; Stella Reynolds; and Bentley Reynolds.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Sandra, in 2022, his parents, and his sisters, Darlene Loock and Delores Moss.
