Janet Brudwick

November 19, 1946 ~ July 11, 2020
Janet Elaine Brudwick, born November 19, 1946 at Bottineau, North Dakota, passed away peacefully after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer, July 11, 2020 at Bethany Retirement Living Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Janet graduated from the Bottineau High School in 1964 and went on to get her Bachelor’s degree in education. She taught grade school English for a short time in Elgin, North Dakota and went on to a long teaching career in Rugby, North Dakota. She retired from there and moved to Mineola, Texas to enjoy warmer weather and to be near her sister, Melanie Brudwick.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Milen and Alvina (Johnson) Brudwick and two sisters, Marlys (Brudwick) Ramsey, and Melanie Brudwick. She is survived by three brothers, Dennis (Norma) Brudwick and of Melissa, Texas, Mike (Eileen) Brudwick and Tom (Jeanne) Brudwick, both of Fargo, North Dakota. Janet had numerous nieces and nephews.
As per Janet’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services in Fargo, ND, as Janet’s remains will be immediately transported to Mineola, Texas. Janet’s interment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola, Texas and her urn will be buried alongside her sister, Melanie Brudwick in Mineola, Texas.
Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Condolences can be sent to Michael Brudwick, 5480 28th Avenue South, Apt. 110, Fargo, North Dakota, 58104.

We shared many great professional memories and had wonderful social visits with Miss B during our time with her in Rugby. We missed her and thought of her often after she retired and moved to Texas. RIP, Jan.

Always one to make you feel comfortable in her class, Jan was a great teacher with a bright energy. I will remember her smile and her laugh which were always plentiful in class. 🙂 Jan you made a difference!

Wonderful and fun teacher. She was tough in class but made you want to do well for her. Always made you feel appreciated and didn’t play favorites. Miss her laugh and smiling face. Class of 1999.

Jan was a dedicated teacher, enjoyed by teaching staff and her students. She was respected, creative and loads of fun. So glad she was blessed to spend life with family. Staff and students will remember her as one of their favorites.
Jan cared for her students both in and out of the classroom. She could often be found at sports events cheering for the Panthers. Jan was a loyal supporter of Rugby Junior-Senior High School for many years. My sympathy is extended to her family.
I enjoyed having her as a junior high English teach in Rugby. Always so kind. RIP Miss B. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends.
Miss B was an amazing English teacher and I know she influenced my choice to become a teacher. My condolences to her family.
Miss B was my mentor and dear friend. I will never forget our time while I student taught. We spent many hours laughing and discussing students. I loved getting meals at the Hub and planning lessons.
She inspires me to be the best teacher, and I love teaching junior high because of her.
