WEST FARGO, N.D. - Janice Foard, 70, West Fargo, N.D., died Saturday, May 8, in her home. Janice Marie Foard was born January 4, 1951 in Devils Lake, ND to James and Mae (Mortenson) Foard. Janice lived on the family farm in Cavalier County until she was nine. At that time, she moved to the state school in Grafton, ND until the late 1980’s when she moved to a group home in Jamestown, ND. In the 1990’s Janice moved to Fargo and resided under the care of Friendship Inc. Janice lived with Friendship until 2017 when she entered ManorCare Moorhead for Rehab. In 2018 Janice moved to West Fargo in the care of Fraser LTD where she remained until her death. While living at friendship Janice did several jobs. Her favorite being selling popcorn at the Sanford Southpointe Clinic. Janice enjoyed live theater and had an annual subscription to FMCT for several years. She also enjoyed attending classes offered by Moorhead Community Edu. for people with disabilities. She enjoyed giving family members the projects she made in class. Janice was a girly girl that loved to have her hair cut and dyed. Burgundy was her favorite hair color to have. She loved to have her nails painted and pretty clothing. She was in several fashion shows with assistance from her special friend Jess and when she wasn’t able to be in the show, she loved attending. Although Janice was nonverbal, she was able to communicate her feelings, thoughts, and needs. She was very loving and could read others’ feelings with ease. Janice was preceded in death by her parents James and Mae Foard and her nephew Jason Foard. She is survived by her siblings Merlin (Laureen) Foard Pullman, WA; Corrine Cameron Hilliard, OH; Linda Wirth Bonnie Lake, WA; Lanetta Walters Fargo, ND; and Cindy (Ed) Newbury Grove City OH; Jay Foard, Fargo, ND. And a large number of niece and nephews, great-niece and nephews and one great -great niece. Celebration of Life from 5-7:00 Pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the North Candlewood Suites in Fargo. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
