Janice R. Arntz

janice arntz

Janice Rae Ann Arntz, 82, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Jan was born on June 2, 1943, in Fargo, ND, to Ralph and Alice Anderson. She was raised in Leonard, ND, by her aunt and uncle, Anna and Ed Powers. After graduating from Leonard High School in 1961, Jan returned to Fargo, where she attended beauty school and began her career as a beautician.

She married Richard Arntz in 1967, and together they had two children, Jeff and Stacy.

She worked for many years at JCPenney, where she built lasting friendships with her clients. After retiring, she continued working part-time at several local nursing homes.

Outside of work, she loved planting flowers, baking, and crafting. When it came to fashion, Jan had a style all her own—she adored jewelry and bold prints, especially anything cheetah or bejeweled! She loved dogs and always had one by her side. Her twin granddaughters were a constant source of joy for Jan; she treasured being part of their lives, celebrating milestones, and creating cherished memories together.

Jan is survived by her two children, Jeff (Pepper) Arntz and Stacy (Roy) Peterson of Fargo, ND; her granddaughters, Sydney (Aaron) and McKenna Peterson of Fargo, ND; and her brothers, LaDon (Karen) Anderson of New Hope, MN and Arlo (Doris) Anderson of Leonard, ND. Special people in her life; Linda, Dalton and Kinsey Holden and Tricia and Trace Ingberg of Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle; her brother, Gerald Anderson; and her half-sisters, LaRue Quesnell and Gladys Farekin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Boulger Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. A light lunch will follow.
