It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Elwood Fenske, 65, who passed away peacefully with his wife, Sondra, and his son, Bryce, by his side.

Jeff and Sondra started their lives together in June, 2001. It was the start of their beautiful relationship. They married five years later on July 29, 2006, at Hope Lutheran Church – South Campus in Fargo. Together, they created many joyful memories, embarking on numerous adventures across North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Their journeys also took them to sunny Mesa, AZ, the vibrant Las Vegas, NV, and even the magical Walt Disney World in Florida, where they had more fun than they ever anticipated.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Jeff’s heart beat in time with the Minnesota Vikings, and the NDSU Bison Football Team. He proudly wore his team logos at countless games, sharing thrilling moments with Sondra and friends. He often found joy in attending World of Outlaws events and local races, where the thrill of speed brought a sparkle to his eye.

Above all, Jeff was a family man who always put his loved ones first. His pride in Bryce and his grandchildren radiated as he delighted in sharing stories about them. A steadfast pillar of faith, Jeff embodied true gentlemanly qualities, effortlessly making those around him smile with his genuine warmth and kindness. He was a living example of how to treat others with respect and grace.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Sondra; son, Bryce (Monica); grandchildren, Marcus and Bella Fenske; brother, Kyle (Kori); and many nieces and one nephew.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Lucille Fenske; and grandparents, Albert and Lydia Fenske, and Fred and Elna Hansen.

  3. Jeff was a gentle soul and so fun to be around. Many of my childhood memories include Jeff. Lots of trips to Hunter to visit with Aunts, Uncles and cousins and to Randall to visit with grandma Fenske. Jeff sure will be missed. May he rest in peace.

  4. Sondra, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember bumping into you and Jeff at the mall several years back and we just talked for a bit, had some Cajun and talked a little Vikings 🙂 he was such a kind soul and will be truly missed <3

  5. It is with heavy hearts that we wish Jeff’s family and friends our condolences on his passing. He was a wonderful classmate and teammate of Gary’s on the Dakota Warrior high school football teams that posted a 22-5 record from 1975-1977. Jeff played an significant role in the team’s success. It is great to hear that he was a fellow Viking and Bison football fan. God bless the memory of Jeff Fenske.
