September 19, 1959 – March 13, 2025

Jeffrey Jerome Hoffman, age 65, of Evansville, MN, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Sanford Health in Fargo surrounded by family.
Jeff was born September 19, 1959 in Morris, MN to Wesley Hoffman and Myrna Amundson. He grew up in Norcross, MN and attended Herman High School. Jeff went on to work as a heavy equipment operator with the Local 49ers, dedicating many years to building roads and infrastructure across Minnesota. He was especially proud of his work on the Minneapolis light rail project.
Jeff married Kathleen Hilde in 1977 and later Marie Lawler in 1984. He was the proud father of five children and found his greatest joy in time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
He enjoyed the outdoors—fishing, swimming and jet skiing at Pelican Lake, hunting in Montana and adventuring with go-karts and paintball. A talented cook, he was best known for his beloved biscuits and gravy.
He is survived by his mother, Myrna Amundson of Herman, MN; stepmother, Gayle Hoffman of Morris, MN; siblings, Michelle Johnson of Coon Rapids, MN and Leslie (Darwin) Edwards of Glendive, MT; Brett (Jan) Schmidt of Hawley, MN and Amy (Brian) Solvie of Morris, MN; children, Wesley (Angie) Hoffman of Cokato, MN; Lisa (Randy) Gades of Morris, MN; Heather Hoffman of Oakdale, MN; Jessica Hoffman of Sartell, MN; and Lucas (Melissa) Hoffman of Battle Lake, MN; along with 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Hoffman.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Ashby American Legion (100 Larson Ave., Ashby, MN). All are welcome to attend, share memories and honor Jeff’s life.
