Jerome C Halmrast, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away July 6, 2024 surrounded by family at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

Born on August 8, 1942, to Casper and Nora Halmrast, Jerome lived a life filled with dedication, service, and love. He attended school at Wyndmere High School graduating in 1961 and furthered his education at North Dakota State College of Science from 1961-1962. Jerome then got drafted and served honorably for the United States Army and until he was later honorably discharged. He then attended North Dakota State University from 1964 -1965 where he received his degree. He met and married the love of his life Geraldine Schneider on September 12, 1970. Together they raised three children, Tina, Scott, and Cheri.

Jerome worked his Tax Service business for over 50 years and also worked for the North Dakota State Department of Transportation and North Dakota Air National Guard. He also was a faithful member of the Vietnam Veterans of American, American Legion Post 2, and Bison Teamakers. He loved watching all sports including the Bison football, Red Hawks, Minnesota Vikings, and the list goes on. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jerome’s love, kindness, and unwavering spirit will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those he touched throughout his incredible life.

Jerome was survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Tina (Tom) Barnes, Cheri (Kyle) Miller; son, Scott (Bernadette) Halmrast; grandchildren, Shauntel (Sean), Alex (Lacey), Kyra (Austin), Ashlee, Austin (Alyssa), Emilee (Braden); great grandchildren, Kai, Braisyn, and baby girl Olson on the way.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane (Clarice) Halmrast, Clayton (Virgina) Halmrast; nephew, Larry Halmrast; and parents in law, Rose and Pete Schneider.
