Uncle John you were the last of our parents siblings, we are deeply saddened by your passing. Our dad’s little brother always with facinating stories or debates and what a life! Veteran, world traveler, author, college professor and if I remember right one heck of a good fisherman too. We will keep Nellie (love of your life)in our hearts and prayers. RIP Johnny

John Peter Calvert passed away on October 7, 2025 at the Fargo Veterans Hospital.
John was born on July, 14, 1939 in Williston, North Dakota to his parents, Walter and Inga (Skjerva) Calvert.
He went on to complete a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree at the University of North Dakota. Following these academic accomplishments, he went on to earn his PHD at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Dr. Nellie Calvert, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
