Jorgene Ann Alsager passed away on February 28, 2026, at Bethany Retirement Living under the care of Ethos Hospice. She was born May 3, 1949, in Ada, Minnesota, to Lester and Helen (Peterson) Edmunds. Jorgene grew up in Hendrum, MN, where she would later graduate high school in 1967. Her early years were filled with a passion for music, as she and her sisters often sang for local churches.

Jorgene pursued her education at a Lab Tech School in Seattle, followed by a nursing degree to achieve her LPN. Her compassionate spirit found purpose in her career in nursing, serving numerous patients at St. Luke’s Hospital, which later became Meritcare and Southpoint Clinic. On September 10, 1978, Jorgene married Darryl Alsager. Together, they welcomed two children, Joshua and Carly. She cherished every moment spent with her family and especially loved being a grandmother to her adored grandchildren. Jorgene dedicated herself to nursing until her retirement, when she devoted all her time helping on the family ranch and spending time with her grandchildren.

In her spare time, Jorgene found solace in reading and listening to music, but could often be found on the lawn mower tending the lawn. She was known for her pride in her Norwegian heritage. Her warmth, generosity, and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed.

Jorgene is survived by her husband, Darryl; son, Joshua (Liz) Alsager; daughter, Carly (Darin) Peters; grandchildren, Ole, Ruby, Lucy, Jacob, and Tenley; and sisters, Nancy (Ray) Ward, Pam (Kit) Grove, and Joan (Craig) Borgen.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Ole and Arlene Alsager; grandparents, Sophie and Henry Peterson and Ed and Myrtle Edmunds; brother-in-law, Kit Grove; and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ethos Hospice.
