Born in: Fargo, North Dakota
Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Joyce Jean Denis, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born Joyce Jean Zander on December 5, 1949, to Lloyd and June (Progefrock) Zander in Fargo, ND. Growing up in Fargo, Joyce experienced the joys of childhood in a close-knit community, and she received her education in the city she cherished.

In her life, Joyce was united in marriage to Fred Denis, and together they created a warm and loving home in Fargo, raising their two sons, John and Michael. Joyce dedicated many years of her professional life to Monarch Photo in Fargo until its closing, after which she concluded her career with pride at Sanford Hospital.

Joyce found deep joy in being a grandmother, nurturing her grandchildren, Madelyn, Ethan, Mikaylah, and Noah, and actively participating in their lives, whether it was helping with school pick-ups or simply spending cherished moments together. She had a natural inclination to care for others, often prioritizing the needs of her family and friends, and lending a hand wherever she could. The memories made at the lake during her younger years will forever be treasures to her family.

Joyce is survived by her two devoted sons, John (Wendy) Denis and Michael (Marla) Denis, along with her beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Tom Zander of Fargo, ND, and Richard (Cindy) Zander of Baldwin, WI, as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and June Zander, and her brothers, Dave Zander and Rod Zander.

In honoring the life and legacy of Joyce Jean Denis, memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, with a visitation taking place one hour prior. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, where Joyce will be laid to rest among the familiar landmarks of her life.

The family invites all who knew and loved Joyce to join in celebrating her life and the many beautiful moments she shared with us all. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed, and an online guest book will be available at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com.
