Karla Jean Wothe

Karla Jean Ryden Wothe, 60, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on March 12, 2025, surrounded by her family after a courageous short battle with an illness.

Karla was born on November 28, 1964, to Warren & MaryAnn Ryden, in Coon Rapids, MN. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1982 and went on to work at Travelers until 1989 when she went to work for Hoffman Engineering until 2011.

In 2010, Karla met Dennis Wothe and relocated to Park Rapids, MN, where they wed on December 13, 2014. There she became Dennis’s true partner in life as well as his handy assistant in his auto shop.

Karla was known for her many years of playing softball, her love of the Minnesota Vikings, playing BINGO, and spending time on Long Lake in Park Rapids. She had an infectious smile and a caring soul. Her death has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her.

Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Warren & MaryAnn Ryden; sister, Carol Ann Theisen; brother, Kenneth Ryden; and father and mother-in-law, Albert & Shirley Wothe. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dennis Wothe; her sons from her marriage to Rick Long: Justin and Casey Long; her brother Ronald (Linda) Ryden; sister-in-law Cindy Ryden; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Additionally, her beloved dog Jerzee is completely lost without her.

Visitation Services will be on May 30th at 9-11 am with Funeral Service following at 11 am at St. Peter Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN.
