Kathleen Gress-Jorgensen

Kathleen “Kathy” Gress-Jorgensen, 74, of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo due to complications from a recent surgery.

Kathy was born and raised in Fargo, and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1969. She worked as a paraprofessional for Moorhead Area Public Schools. Before that, she joined her husband, Rick Jorgensen, as a painter.

Kathy was married to Rick Jorgensen. She was previously married to Roger Gress, with whom she had three children — Jenny Gress of Fargo, Erin (Mike) Kliniske of Fargo, Justin (Amy) Gress of Moorhead. Kathy was a proud grandmother of 8, and is also survived by her siblings, Guy and Heidi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John (Jack) and Marcelle (Micky) Hustad.

Kathy loved her home, gardening, caring for her many animals, ranging from birds to horses. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially listening to stories from her grandchildren. Before her grandkids, she enjoyed taking the family to Grandmas at the lake and enjoying the evening with Rick and his parents Arden (Jack) and Ada Jorgensen— times filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Kathy will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and selfless heart. A Celebration of Life will be held at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND at 10:00am on Monday, November 17, 2025, with visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to 4 Luv of Dog Rescue or a local rescue of your choosing.
