Kenneth "Ken" Moos

Born in:
Langdon, North Dakota
Resided in:
Medina, Minnesota
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth John Moos on July 30, 2025, at the age of 76. After a strong 4-month battle against Duodenal Adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, he quietly passed at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN.
Kenneth was born to John and Edith (Coyle) Moos on October 10, 1948, in Langdon, ND. He graduated from St. Alphonsus High School and went on to graduate from Mayville State University ND where he received his business degree.
On July 31, 1971, Kenneth and Beverly Roder were united in marriage and together raised two sons, Bradley and Jeffrey, who made their parents proud as students, husbands, and fathers. “Dad” so loved his sons. They were chauffeured to many sport practices and tournaments, played back yard games, managed little league baseball, kept bowling stats, and cheered on many accomplishments. “Papa” took great joy in his now 15-year-old granddaughters’ activities, schooling, and talents, most recently being Lucy with her goats and FFA and Amaris with her theater and writing. He so wanted to see them grow into womanhood and the many “firsts” that lie ahead.
A passion of Ken’s was genealogy as he researched both his and Bev’s parents’ families. Even though he had almost 40,000 ancestors in his records, his search was never done. His collections were coins, stamps, Pez, and Dept 56 houses, while entertainment included playing cards, bingo, bowling, baseball, NDSU football, and board games with friends and family, as well as day trips. Ken and his beloved wife loved to travel, having made their first ever overseas trip to England, Wales, and Scotland just last year. With retirement came spending winters at their home in Arizona with many wonderful friends, enjoying the view of the mountains, and especially a glorious night sky while next to the warmth of a chimenea fire on the back yard patio. Summers brought Ken back to MN where he and Bev cherished many friends at their condo in Medina, MN.
Ken’s career began as a teacher of math and high school business. His computer knowledge led to School Business Manager positions in Glyndon, Foley, and New Ulm, MN. He ended his career working at the MN State Department of Education Finance Dept in Roseville, MN.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Donald Roder. Ken is survived by his wife Beverly, sons Bradley Moos (wife Cheri) (daughter Lucy) FL and Jeffrey Moos (wife Josephine) (daughter Amaris) MN, and mother-in-law Eleanora Roder, brother-in-law Randy Roder (wife Sandra), and nephew Adam Roder (wife Emily) of ND.
