Lorraine Martin

Lorraine Martin, 91, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at Eventide in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Lorraine Blotsky on August 12, 1934, in Arthur, ND, she was the daughter of Jacob and Regina (Loeb) Blotsky. Lorraine dedicated over 25 years of her life to serving as a devoted employee at St. Luke’s Hospital/MeritCare. Following her retirement, she embraced the joys of family life, taking immense pride in raising and caring for her grandchildren.

Her children fondly reflect on her legacy, stating, “we had one of the best and coolest moms ever because she was in a band. Yes, we have so many memories that we could share, but we just wanted to say, she may have played her last set here with us, but you all know our mom; she is going to be very busy playing her accordion now for grandpa and grandma, uncle Mel and Kevin, aunt Geri, Jeff and Poncho, uncle Jake, aunt Darlene and uncle Dick, our brother Dwight, and last but not least, Nate. If you listen closely, you’ll be able to hear her playing and picture them all dancing.”

Lorraine is survived by her children; Mark (Linda) Olsby, Julie Martin, Robert (Cindy) Martin, Jim (Kay) Kaulbach, siblings; James Blotsky, Jane Hubert, grandchildren; Luke, Zach, Jenny, Kyle, Kristy, Eric, Carly, Abby and Emmy, great-grandchildren; Sydney, Bria, Ava, Brock, Makenna, Mya, Lainey as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Regina Blotsky; infant son Olsby and son, Dwight Olsby; grandson, Nate Olsby; siblings, Jacob Blotsky, Germaine “Geri” Turner Mulvaney, Darlene Dahlquist and Melvin Blotsky.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, ND, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross North Cemetery in Fargo, ND.
