Maria Katarina Gallegos
February 10, 1950 – June 3, 2025
It is with great sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Maria Katarina Gallegos on June 3, 2025, at the age of 75. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family.
Maria was born on February 10, 1950, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, where she spent her childhood and early life. In her early 20s, she moved to North Dakota, where she began a new chapter—building a family, a career, and a life rooted in love, resilience, and quiet strength. She had a career as a cosmetologist and found joy in helping others feel beautiful, confident, and cared for.
Maria was a woman of many passions and simple pleasures. She loved photography, capturing life’s meaningful moments through her lens. She cherished camping trips and summers at the lake in Minnesota. She had a sharp eye for a good bargain, enjoyed gardening, and could often be found cooking a delicious meal or getting lost in a good book. In her younger years, she was also an enthusiastic runner, finding freedom and peace in the rhythm of the open road.
Above all, Maria was a devoted and loving mother to her four children: Miles (Milda), Crissy, Brandon (Erica), and Trinity (Spencer). She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Dominic, Nehemiah, Ranie, Clayton, and Evelina. She is also survived by her sister Carol, brother Manuel, brother Joey, and niece Gina.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Sophie, father Sarbelio, stepfather Sam, and brother Paul.
Maria touched many lives with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A private family memorial will be held in Fargo, North Dakota, to honor and celebrate Maria’s beautiful life.
