Marian Kallestad

Marian Kallestad, age 85, formerly Fargo, ND, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 in Valencia, California. Marian Johnson was born February 20, 1921 to John and Clara Johnson on the family farm in Grant County North Dakota. Her family was a member of Minor Lutheran Church in Grant County. She first attended township school #4 and then Nelson School by Brisbane before attending Wheeler School which is South and West of Leith, North Dakota. She graduated from high school in Leith. Marian married Oscar Kallestad in Elgin, North Dakota on December 31, 1943. They lived and farmed in that area until 1955 when they moved to Fargo. They have lived in Fargo since then and have been members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Oscar, Fargo, ND; four sons, Jim, Fargo, ND, Jerry (Jean Weismann), Fargo, ND, Jeff (Kathie) Valencia, CA, and Paul, Fargo, ND; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother, Lyle Gordon (Martha) Johnson, Tuttle, ND; 1 sister-in-law, Krystal Schiable, Breckenridge, MN.
