Life Story
Mary Wallace was born on November 16, 1946, in Maryland County, Liberia, to her parents James and Annie. She lived her life graciously, growing up as a devoted, church-going young woman. With her characteristic humor, she often joked that she was “the mother of Jesus,” since her name was Mary.

Throughout her life, Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She went on to raise six children, who blessed her with eighteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and most recently, one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy of love continues through them all.

Mary faced her greatest battle with courage and faith. In November 2024, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Though the prognosis was difficult, Mary lived nearly a year beyond expectations, proving her strength, resilience, and unshakable spirit. Truly, she fought a good fight.
