Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. So sorry to hear of Mel’s passing. Just two years ago I visited with Mel and Miriam at my Moms funeral. They were still the nice sweet neighbors I remember growing up with on Sixth Street. Time just seemed to stand still. I have such fond memories of my days in that neighborhood. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  2. We have many good memories living next to Mel and Miriam for 15 years. We were all sad to hear that Mel passed away. The boys have a lot of good memories going next door for their extra milk from meals on wheels.

  3. I was the mail carrier on 6th St a few years ago and saw Mel’s obituary in today’s paper. I was sad to hear of his passing and wanted to share that although I only delivered their mail I appreciated Mel and his wife. I wanted to share what I posted on Facebook four years ago ….

8-5-16 Appreciated the conversation today with one of the residents on my route. He is about 90 years old and he and his wife live independently in a well-kept, neat two-story home in one of Fargo’s oldest, but most beautiful neighborhoods. They have been there since 1958 and he has been retired for over 31 years. He was working in his yard and I stopped to offer my sentiments on the day’s lovely weather. I complemented his yard and his home and shared how much I enjoyed his neighborhood. He agreed it’s been wonderful all these years and talked about old friendships, pinnochle get togethers and going dancing. It made me sad to think of a day when they won’t be there anymore. As I went on my way, he remarked how nice it was to visit. A beautiful exchange on a beautiful day. Reminded that it’s the simple things that bring us joy.

  4. Dear Miriam, Loni, Blair, Melba, and Barry, Our whole family has you all in our arms and hearts through this time. We have many fun memories of living next door to Mel and Miriam. After all, they gave us our beautiful daughter-in-law. Wish we could be there to hug all of you. Much love and prayers.

  5. Your family will always be a large part of growing up on 6 Street living next door it seemed like it was my house. Many fond memories of your Dad working on the lawn and sitting on the steps waiting to talk when I moved back, can’t say what we talked about but it was fun. My Dad and your Dad would see who would be the first to get out their snow blower I think it was a man thing but we had clean side walk all the way between 9 and 10 Ave. We will all miss him but he is watching over us in heaven with all the old neighbors we have lost they are having a great time that is for sure. All my love to your family ❤️🙏.
