Micole Hansen

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Micole “Mickey” Hansen (Gladue) unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on the morning of January 16, 2024, at the age of 50.

Mickey was born June 1, 1973, in Dickinson, ND, but grew up in Fargo, ND. Mickey attended school on the northside and graduated from Fargo North High School, class of 1991. During high school she participated in Key Club, earning her letter, and choir. Mickey also worked at Mexican Village on Main Avenue and at Country Kitchen in West Acres Mall. She loved to volunteer and did that often throughout high school and her adult life.

Mick, or “Mick”, as her family often called her, was the middle child of David and Marsha Gladue. She was a funny and sweet child, often causing everyone to laugh. She always had a smile on her face and her laugh was contagious. Throughout her childhood and into adulthood Mickey loved to help others, which led to many volunteer opportunities. If Mickey was able to help someone, she would give it her all to provide help and comfort just to see someone smile and she never expected anything in return. She had a kind soul and a very big heart filled with love.

Mickey had an extreme love for animals. If she could rescue any cat or dog, it would be at her home, receiving love with as much food as they wanted, lots of pets and cuddles and a nice, fresh collar with a shiny tag. Over the years, Mickey had several pets, but her favorites were her chihuahuas. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons and living in group homes for several years she had not been able to have a pet of her own for many years.
Because of her generous heart and caring nature, Mickey loved to make gifts for her family members for birthdays and holidays. She also loved to travel when she could and visit her mom’s side of the family in Indiana, often saying she wanted to move there. Mickey’s favorite thing to do was visit and hang out with her mom and spend time with her family.

Mickey is survived by her dad, David Gladue, Fargo; sister, Merilyn (Robert) Wilson, Fargo; and brother, Dave (Melissa Kuznia) Gladue, Lake Bronson, MN. She is also survived by her nephews, Marshall (Katie) Hansen, Henderson, NV, Zane (Litzy) Vandaveer, San Diego, CA, and David “Junior” Gladue, Lake Bronson, MN; nieces, Gina (Chloe) Shepherd, Fargo, Marisa Clemenson, Fargo, and Paige Gladue, Fargo; two great-nephews, Aaron Hansen and Jordan Hansen, Henderson, NV, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mickey was preceded in death by her mom, Marsha Gladue; niece, Aimee Emery-Gladue, and grandma, Faye Gladue.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember Micky as being really caring. I would pick up Micky and we would shop and sometimes
she would bring her pets with. I would have fun babysitting one of her dogs. She also liked to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. She will be missed. Rest in Peace Micky. Love Sheila

  2. I always had a soft spot for Mickey and knowing she’s with our moms now brings me Peace. She’s in loving arms now

  3. How do you say goodbye to your little sister? How do you come to the realization you will not grow old together, experience old age together or simple just never see each other again? As sisters we were close, very close, growing up. Only 11 months apart where one of us were the other was either right ahead or right behind the other. I have so many good memories of you and I growing up and even into our early adulthood. I know we grew apart as we got older but I never stopped loving you. Rest in peace my little sister. I know your with mom and I will miss you until the day we meet again in heaven.
