The funeral service for Nancy will be live streamed at 2 PM on this page.
Nancy Ann Jacobson was born to Raymond and Elsie Jacobson on April 11, 1967 in Crookston, MN. She grew up and attended school in Fertile, MN, graduating from Fertile High School in 1988. Nancy was very proud and loved to remind others of this accomplishment. After graduating, she moved into a group home in Crookston, MN, while still enjoying time at home with her family each weekend. After her parents passed away, Nancy moved to a group home in Moorhead, MN, where she was able to spend weekends with her sister and brother-in-law, Ted and Emily, and their families. She looked forward to spending Saturday nights with family and attending church and Sunday School on Sunday mornings. Nancy is survived by her sister Emily (Ted) Veen, Harwood, ND, brothers, Norman (Bonnie) Jacobson, Minot, ND, and Maynard (Elaine) Jacobson, Mandan, ND and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elsie Jacobson, and brother Robert Jacobson. Nancy taught us to love completely, laugh often, and enjoy the simple things in life. From her and with her we learned to love music, sing loud, and to enjoy with her one of her many movies again, and again, especially her favorites, “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Sound of Music”. As anyone who ever met Nancy can attest, she loved life, as her ever present, effervescent smile would confirm. Until we meet again, Nanc, as you loved to say, “We’ll see you Saturday!”

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Nancy at The Adult Life Program over the past 4 years.
I have so many good memories of her. She made me laugh and I cried when she cried.
She truly enjoyed life and her family.
I wish I could of had the chance to hug her goodbye- she had the best hugs ever.
Emily & Kim, I’m pretty sure I know everything about your family’s. Nancy loved you all so much and I’m so happy you all added so much love to her life. I’m going to miss hearing about Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping where she would get a new bag from Bath & Body works. Christmas was celebrated downstairs!
I spent most of yesterday crying for my own selfish reasons. I will miss her smiles and her asking me to play “Elizabeth” by the Statler Brothers ALL DAY LONG! I’m sure she was greated by her parents and I can just see her smiling. She will never be forgotten by me.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Nancy was truly one of a kind.

  2. Nancy will greatly be missed by everyone who came in contact with her. She loved attending ALP and seeing her friends and staff everyday. She loved getting her nails done and she would also pick out her favorite colors. She always made us laugh when she would go to the salon room and take her favorite nail polish color and put it in her purse. Staff would ask Nancy if she had ALPs mail police she would say “no it’s Nancy’s” then she would give you that precious smile and start to laugh. I am sure going to miss everything about Nancy as she was a highlight of my day and her smile and laugh will greatly be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family as she loved you all very much and there was never a day that did not go by when she did not talk about you.

  3. Church won’t be the same. Loved visiting with Nancy. I always had to make sure she knew I was Todd-2. Todd Veen was Todd-1. She brought joy and happiness to my life. It was fun when she returned from being hospitalized and we had the drive by to welcome her home. I scared her with my cougar horn.

  4. I will always remember Nancy’s smile, her laugh, and her singing. She brought a lot of joy to the people around her. She will be greatly missed.

  5. I enjoyed going to school with Nancy. I worked with her at the Group Home in Crookston, we would watch Lawrence Welk. I borrowed the Lawrence Well Video from Riverview and made her own set for her. He smile and laughter would light up the room. She would always say. “You are Nancy Eia same name. I cherish her memory may God Bless all who knew and loved her. Hugs Nancy til we meet again.

  7. Dear Emily, Ted and Family,
I so remember Nancy at our Family reunions. I admired how her Mother included her socially in everything and after your Mom was no longer there to care for her how your family took over.
She was so much fun to be with and will be missed.
    Our Love and Sympathy,
    James and Beth

  12. Emily and Family!!! Not only did I go to Fertile high school (which Nancy reminded me about constantly) but I got to work with her o the POLK CO DAC kitchen and in her home on Thorndale here in Crookston! Nancy knew how to get in trouble 😊 and she new exactly how to get out of it….all it took were her puppy dog eyes and her very contagious laugh and it was over for me❤😊 she will be missed dearly!!!
