Nancy M. Ragan

Nancy was born on October 10, 1945, in St. Paul, MN and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 28, 2025. Nancy was the first child born to Robert and Margerett (Cadwell) Johnson.

Nancy grew up in St. Paul with her parents, a sister and two brothers. She followed her heart to the little town of Verona, ND where she met and married William Ragan and together raised their four children. Nancy loved working the farm and growing her beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables. She loved to paint and draw and could sew almost anything. Over the years they ended up moving to Jamestown, ND where Bill worked for the NDSU Extension Service of Stutsman County and Nancy worked as a Dietary Manager in the senior center. They moved to Fargo in 2004 and did some traveling and volunteered for the Red River Valley Zoo, something they both took a lot of joy and pride in. Being so positive and her love for Bill being a love we can all hope for. Even though over the years, there has been miles between all of us, we always knew she was a phone call away reassuring us and supporting us. No matter the distance her family always felt her and the security of her love. Her smile and chuckle followed with the light sigh will always be remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents along with her son Christopher; grandchildren Jeremy, Ella and Emma; and great grandchildren Owen and Declan.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend, William Ragan; along with her sons, Brian Anderson – Aubry and Bruce Anderson – Lisa and her daughter, Jacquelyn Smith; grandchildren, Derek Anderson – Sierra, Ariel Kerrins – Kelly, Jason Anderson – Kait, Sierra Anderson, Josh Anderson – Grace, Mathew Anderson – Katie, Erik Anderson – Kaley, Jaden Anderson, Mason Anderson, Nick Bergemann, Colton Bergemann, Ashlyn Bergemann, Travis Begin, Cassandra Villarreal – Franciso IV, Nicole Vork – Jake, Courtney Ericson- Matt Gates, Trayton Smith, Tyler Smith – Justine, and Aaron Ragan; and great grandchildren, Dean Anderson, Alana Anderson, Juliette Anderson, Eden Anderson, Carter Anderson, Jackson Anderson, Aleah Anderson, Everett Anderson, Beckett Anderson, Wesley Anderson, MacKenzie Lewandoski, Travis Begin Jr, Ellie Begin, Aubrianna Benjamin, Liam Thomas, Jaxson Thomas, Destin Villarreal, Leeroy Vork, Lennon Vork, and Maxwell Gates & Bentley Trest.
