Renee Schwandt

Dr. Renee Schwandt, age 38, Kindred, ND, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Renee Carlson was born on April 9, 1965, the daughter of Ray and Loretta (Bakke) Carlson, in Jamestown, North Dakota. She grew up in Hickson, North Dakota, and graduated valedictorian of her class from Kindred High School. She continued her education and earned a bachelor?s and master?s degrees from North Dakota State University, graduating with highest honors. Renee was united in marriage to Robert Schwandt on July 27, 1986. In 1989, they moved to Tampa, Florida, where she began working in Hospital research at the University of South Florida. In 1995, Renee graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine at the top of her class. In 1999, Renee completed her residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Tampa General Hospital and then moved to Kindred, North Dakota, when she began working for Innovis Hospital. During her career, Renee served on two medical missions to Haiti and Jamaica. Renee is survived by her husband, Bob; and her children, Jessica and Jared; her parents, Ray and Loretta Carlson of Hickson; her sisters, Sue (Tim) Blinn of Moorhead, Minnesota; Amy (Kevin) O?Neill of Lakeville, Minnesota; her brother, Randy (Susie) Carlson of Moorhead; and many nieces and nephews.
