Thoughts and prayers to Riley’s family. He was a friend of my Grandma Eleanor Bignall. They worked together at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.
Prayers to Riley’s family and friends. He was a good and kind man and had a great laugh. He and his wife Stretch frequently spent time at the Valley City Airport talking with my parents Flip and Dorothy. He always remembered all of our family’s names and stopped to say hello. He will be missed but not forgotten.
I worked for Riley shortly after college in Valley City. He was a very kind, funny, patient and supportive boss. Stretch and Riley were wonderful community members, he will be missed.

My deepest sympathies in your loss of your Dad and Grandfather. My prayers are with you all during this time of healing.
Losing our parents is such a difficult and hard to accept process….. THEY gave us Life. From them we have learned and been given an opportunity for living life as they taught us. For that we have deepest gratitude and appreciation.

Riley was on the staff at North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy when I was a student in 1957-60 and one of his “lessons” that I never forgot was to take pride in your profession, daily life, whatever it might be that you do. He often used the expression “Pharmaceutical Excellence”–that we should all strive to provide “Excellence” throughout our daily life, professional career, etc.
My wife, Emma and I extend our sincere sympathy to all of Riley’s family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Riley and Stretch were both assets to Valley City. Many of us appreciated him as Mayor of our community … often no easy task! He was a kind and friendly man and I will always remember him from the Congregational Church. I am very sorry for your loss.
He is a great man. Prayers for his family.
