We are so saddened at the lost of our friend and neighbor Russ. He was as good of a human being and you could find in this world. Our hearts go out to his great family and friends at this terribly difficult time. He touched our lives and will be truly missed.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all. Russ was such an amazing human being and friend. Russ will be remembered and missed forever. Rest In Peace.
It is with deepest sympathies that we write you a note. So very for all of your loss!
Russ recruited me to Wanzek and since then became a boss, a friend, a mentor, someone I would seek for life advice, someone I trusted with my financials at Edward Jones.
About 6 weeks ago I texted Russ, I asked him, should I put an upcoming bonus in some stocks or should I put it towards taking my 4 kids on an All-Inclusive vacation something I never have done. Should I use that money for a family trip or my future. He made it pretty clear in his reply. From that moment it was game on, let’s take the kids!!
From Russ:
Life is precious and your trip will never be forgotten. Bonus checks are for: high interest debt (u have none), playing catch-up for retirement (don’t need to) or making memories. Do it!
I will always appreciate you Russ.
I don’t know what to say except that I am shocked and saddened by this news, he was a great friend to me and my family. He always had a way of making sure people felt appreciated, he was truly one of a kind..
Sending hugs and prayers to his family.
I’ve known Russ since 2016 when he opened his Edward Jones office across from the American Family office where I work. What a easy going man he was to be around and smile that lit up a room. Took such good care of his clients and i was one of them. Of course we bantered football, me being a long suffering Vikings Fan and he a Patriots fan. I kept telling him that my Vikings would some day win the Super Bowl, he wasn’t so sure of that statement! I’m so very sorry that Russ has passed and i send my condolences to Betsy, Molly, Mandy and Brady.
Betsy, Brady and family – our deepest sympathies to you. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you have created as a family with Russ over the years you shared. God’s blessings to you. the McNeally Family
Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences. Russ always had a smile and will be dearly missed.

I got to know what fun kind person Russ was when we coached football together with Brady and Landon, very sorry for you lose, and we are praying for you and Brady.
Dearest Betsy, Molly, Mandy, & Brady,
Words fail to express our sadness for your loss. Please know that we are with you during this difficult time. Even though we hadn’t spent lots of time with Russ, we felt like we knew him well through Tucker and the kids. They loved him and loved the time they spent with him. I heard so many stories every time they came back from MN over the years and he always made them feel special. He will be greatly missed by everyone. I am praying that you find peace through God’s infinite love. We love you, Deb & Daryl Orbeck
Russ I am so grateful for our chance meeting 3 1/2 years ago. You have been the best boss, financial advisor & friend ever. I am so sad to come to work & not see your smiling face. You will be missed so much by so many. RIP friend
Russ was one of nicest people I have ever met. I felt completely at ease talking with him about my finances. Wendy and I are saddened by his passing. Russ, Rest In Peace. We love you. Jeff and and Wendy Grabow.
Russ and I started our careers with Edward Jones at the same time. We attended the Home Office Training Courses, and not only sat in the same classes, but next to each other. I would say that I got to know him very well through those training sessions, working on how to build our businesses, at times well into the evening. Russ was just a great guy, and a very respected colleague. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with your family through this difficult time.
Betsy Mandy Molly & Brady,
Our deepest sympathies are with you all. We are so grateful for all the fun times we have spent with you. Russ always welcomed everyone. We truly saw his love for his family. I worked with Russ at Noridian and he was my team leader. He was the best human being with the kindest soul. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to family
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I met Russ in a hospital waiting room when he came to support my family after my sister, his employee, was gravely ill. He gave her son great attention and a Thundar hat and stayed in touch after she passed. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. My heart is broken for you all.
I am so sorry. Russ was a wonderful person. He helped me in so many ways. He asked me what I wanted then helped me do it. I wasn’t one of his major accounts but he always made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. It’s a rare person that can make people feel so good. I will miss that smile and his big personality so much.
I am very saddened to hear of Russ’ passing. My prayers are with you and your family. I worked under him at Noridian in Jamestown. He was very good to work for – he cared about his employees. He will be greatly missed. Take Care.

Feeling so much sympathy for Russ and family. We are going to miss the wonderful man he was. He was such a great person that really cared for his customers. RIP Russ.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Russ’s family. I had the honor of working for him at Noridiian in Jamestown. I have to say as a boss he cared, appreciated his employees and he made work fun even in the hard times. I’m shocked and saddened of the news of his passing.
Both my husband and I were shocked to learn of the passing of Russ. He was the manager when I was hired at Noridian in Jamestown where I first learned what a kind, knowledgeable, and caring person he was. His work ethics were above reproach and guided that office to excellence while he was there. Our friendship continued “forever” as his career moved onward. The last time we spoke in person was at our kitchen table. His love for his family and respect for human dignity were like a beacon of his character. We send our deepest condolences to his entire family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Betsy I am so terribly sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Sincerest thoughts and prayers to you all during this difficult time. May you be comforted by His love and the memories you will cherish forever.

Dear Family of Russ: We can’t believe it, and it hurts a lot to hear that he left this world for his heavenly home. He deserves heaven, because of the kind of person he was to all of us. We’ve only known him a few years, since becoming clients at Edward Jones. But he won us over quickly by his kindness, sincerity, and caring. He looked out for us. He will be missed dearly by all of us that knew him. Sincere sympathy to his family. May God hold you gently in his arms thru this tragic loss.
Forever friends…Don and Joyce Biewer
Russ was our financial advisor for the past 6 years. He was the kindess most generous caring person we met as an advisor. We even got to visit a few times in Texas at a few of the championship BISON football games. RIP Russ. Prayers to the family.
We are so sorry to hear about Russ. We have not known Russ for long, but he was so helpful in helping us enter into retirement that I never dreamed of achieving. Russ helped guide us through each step. We will never forget the wonderful person Russ was. Our thoughts are with his family.
Betsy, Mandy, Molly and Brady,
Our hearts are very heavy for your family. We both had the opportunity to work with Russ—Jake at Wanzek and myself at Edward Jones. He will always be remembered for his smile and his caring heart. You are each in our prayers.
Russ was the office manager at the Jamestown Noridian office when I worked there. He was an awesome individual. We flourished under his direction. He was easy to respect as he displayed integrity and kindness, but also expected us to do our best. It was a sad day when he left Jamestown. We would often hear through someone where he was and how the family was doing. Praying for peace and comfort for his family at this very sad time!
My deepest sympathy to Russ’s family. I had the pleasure of knowing him first through Noridian and then reconnected through his managing my finances through Edward Jones. He was such a kind caring individual. I am very grateful for having known Russ. Prayers for comfort and peace during these difficult days. Sherrie Peterson
I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of Russ. For a short time he was my manager at Noridian. We all had some fun times celebrating being coworkers and he was our grill master cooking up burgers one summer at the village west building. May you all find peace during this difficult time and know one day you will see him again.
Our deepest sympathy during this time of grief. My Jesus wrap you all in his arms and comfort you. The Kotrba Family
You are all in my prayers and in my heart during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of working with Russ at BCBSND. My first introduction to him was an embarrassing accident where he stayed with me until help came. He was always warm, compassionate, and met everyone with a smile. I’m proud to have known him.
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your husband and your Dad. Thoughts and prayers for all of you. May you find peace and comfort in all the treasured memories.

Russ will be greatly missed by so many. It was an honor to know him.
We are heartbroken to hear this! We both considered Russ as such a good friend as he had such a gift of making you feel so special. I met Russ when he did a “cold call” is what he called it – he was in our neighborhood visiting a client and proceeded to knock on doors after his scheduled visit. I blew him off for a couple of months but he persisted and I’m so grateful that he did. We both converted all of our assets over to Edward Jones and we were so grateful for his guidance. Our thoughts are with you Betsy and your children. We are praying for all of you and asking God to give you strength and wisdom in the days ahead. Much love – Julie and Dennis
On behalf of the McCleary family, we send our deepest condolences to your family. Prayers for you for healing and sympathy for your loss. Russ was a good person, and the boys have fond memories of “Rusty” as they knew him in high school. God be with you all.
Dear Boyle Family;
We are saddened to hear of your loss. We will miss him as we walk by the tailgating spot every home football game and when ever we look over at your group of football fans from our seats behind you. We will remember him always as the Bison enthusiast who matched our passion for Bison football. Our prayer to you, the kids, and all the Boyle family.
Horns Up!
Jim and I are devastated. Our prayers go to Betsy and family.
We were so saddened to hear of Rusty’s death. We knew both his parents well and hadn’t seen Rusty since he was a child. We offer our sincere sympathy and our heartfelt thoughts to his entire family.
There are no words to describe how saddened I was to hear about the passing of Russ. I worked with him years ago at Productive Alternatives where he was driven to serve our job seekers with disabilities. He showed compassion and was truly gifted at building relationships. Russ spoke often and so affectionately about his family and I pray your memories will bring healing and peace as you experience this very difficult and sudden loss. Jen
So sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family

We were so incredibly saddened to hear of Rusty’s passing. We did not know him as an adult but knew him when he was very little. We lived in the neighborhood where Rusty’s aunt Paula lived. Rusty and our Casey were born about a week apart and were buddies when they were very little. It sounds as if he grew up to be a wonderful person. Our thoughts and prayers to wife Betsy, children and all the family at such a staggering loss. We pray that your faith and memories surround you at this sad time.
My sincere sympathy to the family. Russ will be greatly missed by so many.

Russ was one of my greatest supporters I’ve ever had. I really felt like he was proud of me. In the 10 years I’ve known him, he was always a go-to for honest & supportive guidance. His ongoing encouragement and recognition boosted my confidence when I needed it most.
He helped me, my parents, and my staff at Animal Health Clinic in so many ways. We are all crushed and heartbroken that he is gone.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss.

So heartbroken for you and your family. The loss of a child is devastating. Love and prayers from us… you are in our prayers.
Boyle Family: you are all in our family’s thoughts and prayers!
Betsy and family.
So sorry for your loss.
As you already know, I had the honor of working with Russ for several years at Noridian and BCBSND. He was an exceptional leader and always had his teams best interests front and center. As you can see from the other entry’s, there are many who were affected by his leadership and are now better leaders themselves as a result.
After Noridian, we often ran into each other. It was weird how many times that happened. Just random spots out in the world. Always enjoyable experiences. Always had a smile on his face. We always left the each other laughing. I will miss running into him and having those laughs.
JP
We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear about Russ. He touched our lives as well as our children and MANY others. The earth lost a great man but the heavens gained an angel! Our deepest sympathy to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May you all feel the warmth of God’s grace and all the love from friends and family.

I worked with Russ at Noridian. He was a skilled leader and beloved co-worker. He was a known practical joker and a chief suspect when pranks were played. Russ was a good sport and took jokes as well as he handed them out. His cared deeply for the employees he led. Russ talked about his family often and had obvious pride in their accomplishments. I know Russ will be missed by the many people he touched. My hope and prayer is that fond memories will hold his family and friends during this difficult time of grief.
My deepest sympathy to Russ entire family. I have known him my went entire life. Russ was a great guy will be missed.
It’s only now that it’s starting to sink in that you are truly gone. You were a good and kind human being. May the Lord receive you with open arms. For Betsy, Mandy, Molly, Brady, Tom & Sherry you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Rest in peace Russ.
We are so sorry for your loss. Many prayers for you and your family

I’m deeply saddened and devastated with the loss of Russ. My sincere sympathy goes out to all the family, I can’t imagine your loss.
Russ was one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever known. He was the most generous, caring, and helpful person I could hope to work with. I could share anything with him. He earned all of my trust and respect, and was the case with all of our employees too.
We have all lost a tremendous friend, and I will remember Russ forever. But my thoughts and prayers go out to you; in your loss of a great husband and father.
So very sorry for your loss. Russ was very good to us. A very special man.
Doug and Cheryl Saari
Our prayers are with the Boyle Family. Our hearts are heavy. Keep faith.
Wow! Completely shocking and for whatever reason he was needed at this time. He was a man that motivated and could do it to anybody. His heart was always out there and he showed it. Before he left Noridian him and I had always shared his obviously decisive advantage in “our competition” when it came to our football teams. His QB and team: Tom Brady and New England Patriots and My QBs Peyton Manning/Andrew Luck and Indianapolis Colts. He even gave me a a tremendous book about adaptability, charisma, organizational management, and empathy. He said “It is a gift for you. You seem to have many of the skills and traits and this can help guide you when you need it. ” Russ, you will always be in my thoughts and I know you will be looking down on hundreds of those for whom you have cared for in your relationships.
THANKS BUD,
Tim Klocke
Our hearts go out to all of you during this incredibly difficult time. I was introduced to Russ through his dad, Tom, when he did a project at D&M. From there John and I became his clients and appreciate everything he has done for us. I’m sad we are not able to be there to attend the prayer service or funeral in person to show our support to you all. We are thinking of you and pray that you can find strength.
Betsy I’m so very sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved him. May God bless and comfort you and your family during this time. Know that I’m here for you. Love you.
So sorry to hear of Russ’s passing. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
My deepest sympathy.
Betsy,
My heart aches for you and your children. I pray that God’s comfort and rest fills your hearts and minds during this difficult time. I am so very sorry for your loss.
To Russ’s family,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you. I too worked alongside Russ for years at Noridian. As so many of these comments have conveyed, Russ was a great talent and his skills were widely known and appreciated. More importantly, Russ had a sincere love of people. I was able to observe first-hand, his compassion and caring for his colleagues and employees. Russ was an excellent listener and always found time to work with people. He had bright expressive eyes, an intense focus, and most endearing, that wonderful smile.
He was a kindred spirit in his love of sports and his competitive nature was ever-present. Although our paths crossed less and less over the years, I remember the last time we chatted. We were at a gate in an airport somewhere, and even after many years of not seeing each other, we chatted as thought no time had passed at all. It was like reconnecting with an old friend. May you find peace in these words and the words shared by so many on these pages. He touched lives and that is a timeless memory.
Our most sincere sympathy to your entire family! Our hearts are heavy. Russ was an incredibly kind and loving friend! Prayers of comfort and peace.🙏
Tom and Family;
You have our deepest, sincerest sympathy, and we will be praying for you and your family.

Hey Betsy, Brady and family! coaching with Russ for our boys travel teams for 3 years was a great way to get know him and his personality. Russ was always energetic and wanted to figure out ways to help the boys get better. Russ was always full of fun ideas and ways to improve the basketball offense. His invite to help coach and for Bennett to be a part of the team – gave us a great way to get to know Russ & Ken and the boys on the team! Russ always had a smile on his face and always ready to have a conversation about anything you wanted.
He will be missed by many and remembered for his smile and positive demeaner. thanks for sharing him with all of us! I am glad to have gotten to know him and our families prayers go out to your family!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. He will be missed! Doug and I are so lucky that Russ knocked on our door years ago introducing himself as someone that is opening an office down the street. We will miss him! What a remarkable man and a great friend!
Our deepest sympathy to your family during this very difficult time. We were saddened to see this as we both went to high school with Russ and grade school with Betsy. A life full of memories, with a beautiful family, but way to short. May God hold you all close and give you strength and peace as you cherish all those memories.
Betsy and family, so sorry for your loss.
There are no words to say. All my Hugs & Prayers Sherry to you & your whole family.
Betsy & family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. I remember visiting with you Betsy & Russ when you were looking for daycare for Molly. I remember thinking what great parents you already were with a young baby. I was so happy to meet up again when you moved back to Jamestown and Brady came to my daycare for a time.
Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May you find peace in your wonderful memories. May those memories and knowing others are thinking of you give you some comfort.
Lean on one another and on God as He is there to help get you through this time.

So sorry for your loss! Thoughts and prayers to your entire family! ❤….From the Mastrud’s.
Betsy and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Words don’t have the power to soothe your troubled hearts in times like these, but time does heal wounds and so does Christ! Even though I did not know Russ, I truly believe he could no longer wait to be with his Heavenly Father. I loved the tribute and seeing all of you, so memorable. I am thinking of you and praying God’s hands are keeping all of you together in peace.
So sorry for your loss.
In the limited time I spent with Russ, I could tell he truly cared for others. He was one of few that I trusted with financial advise and planning my future. Instead of talking too much about investments, our first meeting turned into a conversation about life and the future. He was so encouraging and helpful! Russ gave me peace of mind that it was okay to look further and wish for more in life! He motivated me to strive for what would make me the happiest, and he seemed to have a strong ability to understand people in such a short time. He called it! I went for more, and now I have a new job that pays nearly double and I am so much happier now!
Despite the short time we knew each other, he made a big impact on my life, and I am forever grateful to him for his caring and encouragement! Thank you Russ! You have touched many lives!
I was shocked to just recently hear about Russ’ passing. I was fortunate to get to know him through business, and I was always so impressed by his committment to his clients. May his memory be a blessing.
