Sandra “Sandie” Gail Huss, 77 years old, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Bethany on 42nd nursing home with her family by her side.
Sandie was born on October 7, 1946, in Moorhead, MN, to Olaf and Violet Wickoren. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1964.
Sandie married Myron Carlson on October 21, 1967. They welcomed their one and only child, Bradley, on Nov 12, 1972. She loved having a son, and showered him with love and kindness. Everyone will tell you – Sandie and Brad had an unbreakable bond.
Sandie later married Robert “Bob” Huss on Feb 14, 1984. Bob had three daughters of his own – Sandy, Kathy and Bobbi. They enjoyed many good times together, including vacations and dinners out as a family.
At an all-school reunion around the year 2000, Sandie was reacquainted with an old classmate, Dennis “Denny” Brown. They went on to spend many years of companionship together. She loved driving around in Old Yeller, Denny’s 1970 GMC pickup. They also enjoyed vacationing in Texas, dancing at the VFW, playing cards, and spending time with their families.
Sandie worked at Northwestern Bell (Qwest) where she held various positions over a span of 37 years. She retired in 2001. She now could fill her days doing things she loved – cooking, baking, walking at the mall, coffee and lunch with friends, crafting, bingo, playing games with family, watching Dancing with the Stars (We all knew not to call her during this time!!) and, most of all, spending time with her grandkids. Over the years, she attended many of their school activities. Watching them participate in sports became her favorite pastime. She rarely missed a soccer, hockey or baseball game.
Sandie also loved to visit her cousin Cindy’s lake home on Pelican Lake where she and her cousins would get together often to enjoy good food, arts and crafts, catching up and sharing lots of laughs. They also enjoyed thrifting, garage sales and weekly lunches at Sickies Garage.
Sandie is survived by son Bradley (Kara) Carlson, Moorhead, MN; Grandchildren Kenzie (Devin) Torgerson, Kindred, ND; Kobe Carlson, Fargo, ND; and Maddi Petrick, Barrett, MN; Great Grandchildren Dawson and Beckham Torgerson, Kindred, ND. She is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.
Sandie was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Violet, brothers Steven and Arne, and sisters Patty and Sharon.

Sandy was and always will be my Aunt Sandy and part of the Carlson family… She was such a fun loving and wonderful person! I adored her and know she is going to be missed. My deepest sympathies to Brad, Kara, Kenzie and Kobe… I know you all loved her so very much & she loved you as well. Love and prayers to all of you…
Dear, Dear Sandra Gail. I can hardly believe this. You’re been a much loved part of our family since the early 60’s. We all loved you and felt you were still part of the family. From our graduation to both of our weddings, to the births of our children, we enjoyed many happy times. You will always be remembered with love and affection. Rest peacefully my dear friend. I love you and will always remember you. Love, Judith Eline
My sincere condolences to Sandie’s family. She was my wife’s ( Connie ( Phillip) Peterson) cousin. We saw her over 50 years of visiting Moorhead. Fun lady!
Sadly, my Friend Sandie ended her journey here on earth. She is now in the arms of her Heavenly Savior and thankfully her suffering is over.
She was the best friend anyone would ever want.
Sandie was fun and when we were together there were lots of laughs. She was loving, giving and had a heart of gold.
I will miss her and she will forever be in my heart.
My Sympathy to Brad and Kara, Kenzie and Devin, Dawson and Beckham and Kobe, all who were the light of her life.
My Love and prayers during this difficult time.

She was a great friend/ co worker. We had many laughs and loved her smiles!💕
My condolences to the family. I knew Sandie from working at the phone company – what a lively, kind, and caring lady. I feel fortunate to have gotten reacquainted with her at Bethany over the last couple of years while visiting there. I will miss her and her smile.
To Sandie’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew her from NWB-Qwest. She was always so nice, kind and funny. She will be missed
My friend Sandie’s journey on earth has ended but she is in the arms of her Savior with no more pain.
Sandie was the best friend anyone could have. She was kind, loving, and we had lots of laughs whenever we got together with her.
I will miss you, Sandie, but you will be forever in my heart until we meet again!
My Sympathy and Prayers to Brad, Kenzie and Devin, their boys, Dawson and Beckham and to Kobe, all who were the light of Sandie’s life.
Love, “Bevie” (the name Sandie called me)
