It is with heavy hearts we lost a dear lady, Sharon Jean Dvorak on February 25, 2026.
She passed away peacefully at the age of 88. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a cherished friend to all those who knew and adored her.
Sharon Jean Dorr was born September 12, 1937, in Mankato, MN, to Lester and Jeanette Dorr. Her childhood was spent in Minneapolis, MN, before moving with her family to Grand Forks, ND in 1951. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. She attended the University of North Dakota and later graduated with a degree in education. Sharon was an elementary school teacher at Viking School for 30 years.
Sharon and Richard Dahl were married in 1957 in Grand Forks. They had two daughters, Terry and Tammy whom they raised together.
Sharon was married to David Dvorak in 1978, spending the next 28 wonderful years together until his passing in 2006 while they were living in Bismarck. After David passed she moved to Fargo to be closer to her family. Sharon and David’s love for travel brought about many treasured journeys and countless hours on the golf course. They also spent many years on their boat, “The Recess” – a reference to the teacher on board, which allowed family members to visit and join in their fun. Planning for their retirement years, the couple also purchased a home in Florida where Sharon continued on to enjoy the winter months for years loving the warm weather and good friends.
Sharon was always known for her beauty, kindness, grace, and her deep spiritual faith as a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. She was forever there to support her daughters and their families. A lovely lady who possessed many talents in music and especially in oil painting. We are blessed with her many creations she left behind. In her younger years she was part of a bridge club that brought her lasting friendships.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, David; brother, Richard; and her oldest granddaughter, Jamie Stark.
She is survived by her daughters, Terry Beal of Minneapolis, MN and Tammy O’Day of Fargo, ND; stepdaughter, Shelly (Chip) Cook of Chaska, MN; stepson, Les (Jackie) Dvorak of Fairdale, ND; grandchildren, Janelle (Jon Thomas) Anderson, Jared (Kadie) Anderson, Leo (Lindsey) O’Day, Cassidy O’Day, Evan and Owen Cook, Derak Mostoller, and Denver (Olivia) Dvorak; thirteen great-grandchildren; extended family members; and her dearest Florida ladies.
Services will be held Friday, March 27th at the First Presbyterian Church in Fargo. There will be a visitation from 10am to 11am in the church with her funeral service to follow. A lunch will be served in the fellowship hall in the church afterward.

Blessings, Joyce Dorr (Sister-in-Law)
I’ll miss knowing that I can call Sharon and visit with her. She was a special friend….our late husbands were 1st cousins, so that brought us together initially.
I hadn’t talked to Sharon recently, so this was a surprise. I want to send my prayers and comforting thoughts to her family. She loved you all and was so proud of you. I am so very sorry, Tammy & Terry.
Rest in peace, my friend.🌸
