Resided in:

Susan Mary Kenna, age 77, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND, where she resided for the past eight years. Susan was born to Margaret and Donald Kenna in Fargo, ND on December 29, 1946.
She attended grade school in Jamestown, until her family moved back to Fargo in 1959. Though Susan had some disabilities, she proudly graduated from Fargo North High School in 1968. After graduation, she began her career working in food service beginning at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo. Following that, she worked for 35 years in food service at NDSU, retiring in 2004.
Susan loved her family more than anything else and cherished every second they were together. Some of her favorite memories were those spent at the family cabin on West McDonald Lake, as well as participating in extended family traditions during the holidays. Faith was important to her, as she enjoyed regular worship at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Some of Susan’s most exciting adventures included traveling with her parents, which featured several trips to Ireland. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and was always excited to share information about family’s descendants and their history. Susan was the unofficial family historian as she could always remember names, dates, and special family occasions with ease.
Susan was an avid NDSU Bison and Notre Dame football fan. In her younger years she had the opportunity to attend some of their football games in person. Later in life she made sure to clear her schedule on game days to cheer on the Bison or Fighting Irish. In her free time, she knitted scarves, blankets, and cute craft projects that she gave away as gifts. She always made time to chat with anyone who crossed her path and would usually charm them with her generous smile and twinkle in her eyes.
Susan is survived by her brothers, Donald J., Grand Forks, ND, and Howard (Mary), Little Falls, MN. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews that she adored including Amy (William) Davis, Fargo, ND, Donald C. (Jennifer) Kenna, Garner, NC, Maggie (Jacob) Gross, Windom, MN, and Mallory (Isaiah) Korver, Mankato, MN and a great niece, Harlee Kenna and two great nephews, Kaelen Kenna and Linden Gross. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her sister-in-law, Rita Kenna.
A Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, in Fargo. Burial will be at Holy Cross North, following the Mass.
Susan’s family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Homes for the friendship, support and care they provided Susan with over the years.

To a courageous cousin. May eternal light shine upon you.
So thankful for Susan’s kindness, She was always so willing to visit and so aware of her family. I remember her visiting my Dad, Dan Kenna. Our condolences to her family and May she rest in peace.
I sat next to Susie at our last class reunion dinner. Hadn’t changed a bit since high school. Same sweet, kind and dear person as I remembered her. Heaven has gained a true angel.
