“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Wayne Hagen on May 14, 2025, at the age of 70 years. Terry was born on July 26, 1954 in Drayton N.D., to Harold and Florence (Johnson) Hagen. Terry truly knew it was more blessed to give than to receive. His generosity knew no bounds and he would help anyone in need. Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He enjoyed going to concerts and watching Seinfeld but his claim to fame was his storytelling, with a knack for making the unbelievable just believable enough to leave you wondering. He loved spending time with his precious family and his beloved dog Blue.

Terry lived much of his young rambunctious life on the family farm near Hallock, MN. He loved the outdoors. Terry could be found either trying to domesticate wildlife for pets, riding horses, motorcycles and “snow cats” and hunting as he got older. He also enjoyed their many family vacations and camping trips. Terry was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church in Hallock. He graduated from Hallock High School in 1972 and after working several jobs in the area he moved to Fargo.

Terry met and married his first wife Carrie Nordstrom in 1978. They welcomed two children together, Jeremy in 1981 and Jacqueline in 1984. Terry was a devoted father and grandfather who created a special nickname for everyone. His children were affectionately known as Jeremiah and Jaka/Shishky. A few grandchildren were named Monk, Scrunch and Deli. He was forever proud of his children, touting them as “his greatest accomplishments!”

Terry launched a successful business “Payless Mobile Home Service, later known as Hagen’s Mobile Home Service” in 1986 and business has been going strong ever since! In 2001, his son Jeremy joined him and the two worked side by side for the last 24 years. Terry took great pride not only in the company he built but in the opportunity to share that journey with his son.

Terry married Stephanie Solberg in September 2021. They made a loving home together in West Fargo and shared a passion for concerts, dog shows, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie; his children Jeremy Hagen (Kara), Jacqueline Walz (Ryan); grandchildren, Riley Fleck, Caleb, Avery and Blake Hagen, Delphine and Everleigh Walz; step-daughter Jordyn Hoff (Stephanie); Mother, Florence Hagen; brother, Arlen Hagen (Nancy); sister, Shiela Amundson (Tim); brother Loren Hagen (Jennifer). He is also survived by his uncle and aunt Elden and Eileen Johnson and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, Harold Hagen.
