Theresa Marie Dooley, 88, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at Eventide in Fargo. Born on September 8, 1936, in Harvey, North Dakota, Theresa was a beloved daughter of Frank and Barbara (Holzer) Muscha.
Theresa received her education at St. Cecelia’s Catholic School, where she attended until the eighth grade, eventually graduating from Harvey High School. Her heart for caring for others began early in her career. She dedicated herself to the care of others, working as a nanny for Vivian Nesemeier and Marie Dooley and then serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. John’s Hospital.
During a chance meeting at a dance, Theresa met the love of her life Eugene Dooley. They were married on February 13, 1956, in a ceremony in Harvey, North Dakota. During their lifelong marriage, the couple made their home in Moorhead, later moving to Kingsley Farm and Schwartz Farm, before establishing themselves at their farm in Wheatland and raising their eight children.
As a devoted mother and homemaker, Theresa prioritized her family, instilling values of faith, kindness, a strong work ethic, and an unrivaled family bond, all while keeping up with their shenanigans and individual passions. Once her children were grown, she continued to contribute to her community by working at various local businesses, including Kerry’s Sweet Shop, Bloom in Things Greenhouse, Barrel Sandwich Co., Uncrustables, Emco (Western) Products, and Petal Pushers Greenhouse in Embden. She was also active in the church and was often asked to bake her perfected bread or rolls for various church gatherings.
She is survived by her children: Becky Dooley (Jan Anderson), Cloquet, MN; Brian (Beth) Dooley, Mandan, ND; Don (Janie) Dooley, Wright, WY; Darla (Keith) Hennen, Borup, MN; Joe (Kari) Dooley, Wheatland, ND; Steve (Amy) Dooley, Wheatland, ND; and Rob (Perin) Dooley, Baldwin, WI; daughter-in-law Kathy Dooley, Garden City, KS; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her brothers, Ralph and Dale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene in 2013, son Bruce in 2020, siblings Raymond, Agnes, Elaine, David, Diane, Roger, Mark, and Howard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community of Care of Casselton, St. Leos Cemetery or Casselton Ambulance Service.

So sorry to all the Dooley family’s! She lived a full life- always fun to visit with especially at the flower gardens
Theresa was my last living aunt. She was also my God Mother. I have great memories of her. As a kid, I spent a week out on the farm with them, always enjoyed my time out there! Never a boring moment. She always had fresh made bread on hand, and the house always smelled like fresh baked bread. RIP Theresa, you will be very missed.
Brian and Dooley family, my condolences to you and family. Having met your parents it will be a somber occasion filled with stories and memories.
Thoughts and prayers for the Dooley families.
Our sympathies.

Brian, i am sorry to hear of your mom. Please regards to the rest of your family.
She was a wonderful neighbor to all of us at Casselton Meadows. I enjoyed visiting with her when we worked on a puzzle in the community room or when we all got together for coffee. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was a great gardener and boy could she catch gophers. We will miss her.
Dooley’s I am so sorry for your loss, words cannot say enough at this point. I wish I could be there to help celebrate Theresa life and share in the happy memories of her. I am 55 now and remember as a kid (very young) every time I met her and Eugene I thought she carried herself like a Queen and always looked elegant. She had a wow! Factor about her for sure.
