Timothy L. Anderson

Timothy (Tim) Loren Anderson, 67, of Fargo, North Dakota passed away on August 28, 2025. Tim was born on April 11, 1958, in Ada, Minnesota to Erling and Evonne Anderson.
Tim graduated from Ada High School in 1976 with a small class of amazing friends who prepared him for the future with his love for agriculture.

He met Elaine Doll and married her in April of 1983. Together they raised their two children (Denise and Richard). He taught them strong work ethics, the love of travel and to be thankful for everything in life. One of Tim’s greatest joys was fostering over 20 children, providing a safe, loving home and changing lives with kindness, patience, and compassion. His role as a grandfather was one, he treasured deeply, and the memories he created with them will be cherished for generations to come.

Tim’s love for farming led him to being a farm manager in rural Halstad, MN for H.L. Madson, Tim carried the utmost respect for H.L. and managed his farm for 25 years. The second half of his marriage to Elaine, they founded and created Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care in Dilworth, MN where they continued to care for more people.
Tim traveled as much as he was able; planning itineraries was one of his favorite hobbies. His travels weren’t about seeing different places, but about experiencing cultures, trying different foods and connecting with new people. He relished the little experiences, like getting a straight shave from a barber in New Mexico or tricking his kids into eating rocky mountain oysters in South Dakota.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful follower, proud Grandpa and farmer at heart. His optimism and resiliency in our challenging world was a gift of perseverance that he has passed on to his family and friends. Everyone who remembers him is asked to raise a glass in his memory, and toast to a life well lived.
Tim joins his parents, Erling and Evonne, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine, and many loving family members, including their children Denise (Brent) Tollefson and Richard (Traci) Anderson; seven grandchildren; and his siblings Mark, Arlen and Jane (Virgil).

A vigil service will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 4:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 218 10th St S, Moorhead with a visitation an hour prior. We’ll be sharing stories, memories, with Tim’s favorite people for a Celebration of Life at the Armory Event Center, 904 Center Ave, Moorhead from 5pm – 7 pm with heavy appetizers, wine and beer.

Visitation will continue at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, September 8th at 10:00 am, followed by Tim’s favorite “Lutheran Funeral Hot Dishes”. The burial procession and service to follow in Perham, MN at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Instead of flowers, Tim would love if you did an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need. If inclined, donations in his honor can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, specifically to Jail Ministries or Music Liturgy; both were ways he used his talents to serve our Lord. Alternatively, gifts can be made in his honor to Serenity Assisted Living where he spent almost 20 years being the hands and feet of Jesus to care for our aged population.
