Todd Kramer

todd kramer
Todd Jeffrey Kramer of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on January 2, 2020 at the age of 56. Born in Fargo on February 1, 1963 to Terry and Pat Kramer, Todd followed his father's footsteps as an electrician, working in the electrical field until 2016. He then transitioned into working as a maintenance mechanic for Sanford Health, where he was currently employed. Todd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. His spontaneous and adventurous outlook on life made him incredibly easy to love. He was always the first one up to lend a hand, or give straight forward - “no fluff” advice. He deeply loved his children and was head over heels for his wife, Kim. In 1975, at Ice Cracking Lodge in Ponsford, Minnesota, Todd found himself smitten with Kim. They began a friendship that would last from 6th grade through high school, but life had other ideas for them and they wouldn’t start their love story until some years later. While at an auction, Todd bumped into Kim’s father, Don, who mentioned Kim was back in town after being away for quite awhile. She had her four daughters, Jessie, Leah, Maria, and Kyla while he had his son, Joseph and his daughter, Tara. Kim and Todd met up, sparks flew and the rest is history. They were married and joined their families as one. They watched their children grow, and their family continued to expand with each new marriage and grandchildren's birth. Todd and Kim were blessed with five grandchildren: Lexi, Braelyn, Jason, Brinley and Tenley. He devoted much of his time to them, always present for school activities, movie nights, holidays, birthdays, camping expeditions where he was dubbed “Grill Master”, game nights of Phase 10, and many, many nights around a bonfire with his kids and grandchildren, making a lifetime of memories. As a natural born handyman and Jack of All Trades, Todd often had multiple projects happening at once, and was still always offering a helping hand to his family and friends. He enjoyed various sports and activities, from catching a hockey game, sprint car races, going snowmobiling, tubing, and fishing on Ice Cracking Lake. He attended concerts and loved watching his grandchildren participate in various activities. He was a fun loving, big smiled, happy guy with a deep appreciation for the simple life and he never wanted too much “fluff”. He was an easy going person, with an infectious laugh and a shoulder to cry on or to carry the burdens that were too heavy to bear alone. He treated every person he met with respect and dignity, and he was never too good to have a conversation with anyone he came across. A North Dakota boy at heart, he had the ability to make one feel at home, or to calm the chaos that often happens in life. He left this world too soon, and the space left behind is filled with the joy, love, and kindness he showed to every person who had the fortune of knowing him. He was deeply and vastly loved. His absence leaves sorrow within our hearts and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him. Todd is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Guida) Kramer; his parents, Terry and Pat Kramer; brother, Randy Kramer; his children, Joseph Kramer, Tara Kramer, Jessie (Bob) Meier, Leah (Marcus) Koschak, Maria (Chris) Stenvold, Kyla (fiance Austin Halvorson) Kramer; along with his beloved grandchildren, his first wife Julie Mayer, several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service will be held January 8, 2020 at 10:00am at the Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, ND, with visitation from 9:00am - 10:00am. In lieu of flower, donation to honor Todd may be made to www.heart.org
