Vicki R. Laraway, age 71, of West Fargo, North Dakota, and formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at Essentia Health in Fargo. She was born on February 25, 1954, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Harry and Jeane (MacDonald) Mason.
Vicki was a proud graduate of Jamestown High School, finishing in the class of 1972. She pursued higher education at Jamestown College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1975, and furthered her training at Creighton Medical Technology School, graduating in 1976. Vicki dedicated her career to the field of medicine as a Medical Technologist, working at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, Altru in Grand Forks, TNI in Fargo, and Dakota Clinic in Jamestown.
On March 12, 1977, she married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Laraway, at the Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. Their love story began on New Years Eve when they were just 15 years old, blossoming from friendship into a beautiful partnership that spanned 55 New Years and 48 cherished years of marriage. In 2005, they made their home in West Fargo, where Vicki continued her career, working at Sanford and culminating in her retirement from IMA in 2019.
Vicki possessed a true passion for culinary arts, a skill she lovingly honed under her Mother’s guidance. Her creativity extended to sewing, quilting and gardening. An active member of her community, Vicki loved participating in PEO, serving as President of the Jamestown and Fargo Chapters, and contributing to the Session and Worship Committee at Frist Presbyterian Church of Fargo. Always a very active person, she was an avid walker and attended Dance Attack group fitness classes at Total Balance, where she became a beloved member of that community, as well.
Above all, Vicki treasured her role as a grandmother, finding boundless joy in her two grandchildren, Theo and Lucy.
Vicki is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Laraway; children, Danny Laraway, New York City, NY; Mark (Megan) Laraway, Horace, ND; grandchildren, Theo and Lucy Laraway; siblings; Pegi (Hal Ecker) and Greg (Amy).
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service celebrating Vicki’s life will be held on Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Fargo starting at 2:00 with a visitation prior. Memorial donations my be made to First Presbyterian Church of Fargo or PEO Chapter B.E.

Dick,
So sorry to hear of Vicky’s passing. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Take care, Hal & Mary Jane Wenaas
My wife, Angela, is regretfully unable to attend Vicki’s funeral. As I was getting ready to head to Fargo, she said, “You be sure to tell Dick & Vicki …” and then she stopped and never finished. It’s always been “Dick & Vicki”. Ever since high school, it’s been “Dick & Vicki”. Seemingly always together. Sure, they had their separate interests and activities, like Vicki’s quilting & crafts and Dick’s hunting & fishing (which Vicki supported as long as we didn’t take her car.). But to me, and I think to most of the world, “Dick & Vicki” was both a pair and a single entity – her quiet and caring demeanor the perfect compliment to his – shall we say – somewhat more energetic and animated personality.
It is with a great sense of loss and sorrow that “Dick & Vicki” is no more. Hopefully Dick will, with the help of family includingl their sons and 2 precious grandkids, eventually find healing and happiness. As for Vicki, if you’re planning on going to heaven, I’d suggest you get your quilt order in now. It might be heaven, but I hear it can still get a little chilly at night.
condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest sympathies. We have fond memories of our days as hockey parents. Julie and Paul Rokke
Please accept my condolences, Dick. Even after decades, it seems we High-Acres kids have a connection. I would see Vicki from time to time through my work and she always made a point of greeting me and asking about my family. I know she will be missed by all who knew her.
So sorry for your loss.
My condolences to the Laraway family. I worked with Dr. Laraway at the VA. Vicki’s VA Christmas parties were always fantastic, as well as the many goodies she akways sent to work with Dick. She was a lovely, gracious person
I had the pleasure of getting to know Vicki, working together for a brief time, and the continuation of friendship following. Enjoyed times we spent with Danny and Hayley. As it often happens, we lost touch over the years. I’d always admired her culinary and entertaining skills. She was a lovely human being. Thinking of you. Joel and I extend our heartfelt sympathies.
Our sympathies for your loss.
God’s peace and comfort to you.
Vicki will be missed! She was such a treasure, always with a kind smile. She and Dick welcomed me into their home and she made delicious food (when I think of scotch-a-roos… I think of her)
We shared a love of quilting, and I was impressed by her talent! I wish she had more time with her grandbabies but grateful she held them and loved on them as much as she possibly could. I will keep you in my prayers in the days to come.
I did not know Vicki personally, but I know she must have been a wonderful mother, as she raised an amazing son, Danny, who I do know. I am hoping for peace, love and good memories for the entire family.
Dick, Danny, Mark and family,
We are very sorry to hear of Vicki’s passing. We were very privileged to move into the house between you and Rowe’s in Jamestown. We couldn’t have asked for nicer neighbors. Vicki was the best! Our sympathy to all of you. Ingrid, Gary, Chris and Patrick Lane
So saddened to hear of Vickie’s passing today 4/9/25. Good hockey moments Lucas and Mark had. I worked with her at NDSU Student Health and she was a beautiful person. Prayers and Healing sent your way.
