Audrey passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family. Audrey Hanson was born on July 13, 1928, in Mayville, ND, the daughter of Teman and Marie (Fullmore) Hanson. She spent her early years in Hillsboro, but moved with her family to Renton, WA where her parents worked for Boeing. The family returned to North Dakota a few years later and Audrey finished her schooling in Hillsboro. She was united in marriage to Benjamin “Bucky” Waters on August 10, 1947 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home on a farm near Hillsboro, in Bloomfield Township, where they farmed and raised their family. Bucky passed away on April 23, 1997. Audrey lived on her beloved farm for over 52 years when she decided to purchase a home in Hillsboro. She enjoyed her time living in Hillsboro where she was able to be closer to her children. Throughout the years Audrey was a very active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she loved being a part of the Dorcas Circle. She also was the longest serving member of the Hillsboro VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the Good Intentions Homemakers Club, and the Red Hat Society. She loved spending time at the Hillsboro Golf Club where she played golf and cards. Most importantly, Audrey will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother to her children.
