Agnes Berg Potretzke Agnes Potretzke, of Mesa, AZ was born on December 5, 1911 in Fertile, Minnesota to Wincent and Olena Berg. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1929 and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she attended Rasmussen Business College. She returned to Fertile where she worked for the Rural Credit. On January 7, 1939 she married Stanley Potretzke of Ada, Minnesota. They lived in Minneapolis until 1941 when they moved to Fargo. While in Fargo she enjoyed activities at Olivet Lutheran Church, senior citizen activities, and numerous bridge groups. In 2002 she moved to Arizona to be close to her daughters. Agnes was an accomplished bridge player, knitter, pie maker and she was known for her wonderful fudge and divinity. Agnes passed away on July 15, 2009 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 97. She leaves her daughters, Sandi(Bob) Monte of Gilbert, Arizona and Jeanie(Gary)Flaa of Scottsdale, Arizona. She will be missed by her granddaughters, Shelley Itealy, Jennifer Della Vedova and Heather Flaa all in California and Lisa Monte, Mesa, Arizona and grandson Anthony Monte in Phoenix, Arizona. Agnes leaves five great grandchildren. A brother Vince Berg, Rochester, Minnesota survives along with nephew, nieces, and cousins. Her husband Stanley passed away in 1995. Her brother George Berg and sisters Esther Anderson, Laura Nelson and Val Engstrom also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.
