Alexander Daniel Hirn, 19, of West Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on April 27th, 2017.
Alex was born on July 28th, 1997 in Fargo, ND, the beloved son of Beverly Hirn. He was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, ND, his mom’s home church. Later, he was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in West Fargo. He excelled in school, frequently making the honor roll, and graduated from West Fargo High School in 2016. His goal post graduation was to study genetics. He had a great wish to work on finding a cure for cancer, as he had lost his grandmother to it.
Alex was passionate about hockey and made many lasting friendships while playing. His favorite professional hockey team was the Colorado Avalanche, and he was able to see them win with his mom during a trip they took as a Christmas present. With his friends, he would play hockey outside during every season, play basketball, and Frisbee Golf in the park. While at home, Alex was always reading, watching movies and his favorite shows. He enjoyed Harry Potter, Grey’s Anatomy, and the Maze Runner and Star Wars series. Alex was up for anything. Visiting haunted farms around Halloween was something he looked forward to every year with his cousins. He loved setting off fireworks on the 4th of July. He cherished sitting around the table with family and playing any card game that required strategy.
Alex’s favorite memories included the many trips he took with loved ones. He was adventurous and loved the thrill of amusement park rides. He wanted to go to Disney World throughout his whole childhood. He enjoyed it so much when he finally got to go that he wanted to go again with his girlfriend, Emilee May, of Fargo, ND. Other cherished vacations included the trips he took to Valley Fair, Aberdeen with Daniel Lopez, of West Fargo, ND, and to Kansas City for Chargers vs. Chiefs football games.
Alex will always be remembered by his friends and family for his kind spirit and gentle soul. He was always someone to count on and put others before himself. He will be missed beyond words by many.
Alex is survived by his mother, Beverly Hirn, his Aunts and Uncles, Celine and Jerry Hennix of West Fargo, Marilyn Rogers of West Fargo, Sharon and Robert Lawson of Pembroke, Virginia, and his cousins, James and Amy Rogers, and Hunter Lawson, his girlfriend, Emilee May, and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carolyn Hirn-Novak and Arnold Hirn, formerly of Minot, ND.
