Algert (Al) Krieger was born on October 6, 1930 to John and Elizabeth Krieger. He died on Tuesday, August 8 at Bethany on University under the care of Hospice.
He grew up and attended school at rural Fredonia, ND. He served in the US Army from 1954 – 1956. After his army discharge, he attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School. He was married to Jackie Friskop on September 26, 1959 at DeLamere, ND. He worked at Western Auto Parts Co until 1961 when he began working at the Fargo Post Office. He continued to work there until his retirement in 1990. After retirement, he worked as a courier for Nuclear Imaging and at Tri-State Auction. We are grateful that he was able to go on the WDAY Honor Flight this last May. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #2 in Fargo.
He is survived by his wife and 3 sons. David (Lori), St. Paul, MN; Mark (Lisa), Carmel, IN; and James, Minneapolis, MN. 5 grandchildren: Anna, Alec, Rachel, Allison and Lauren. Also surviving are 2 sisters: Velors Saxton, Denver, CO and Delight (Leo) Entzi, Fort Collins, CO.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Hospice, Bethany Homes and Luther Memorial Home in Mayville for the fantastic care that he received. You are all wonderful, caring people and will not be forgotten.
He has bequeathed his body to the UND School of Medicine. The final resting place will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, ND.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, in Fargo, ND.
