A celebration of life for Alice M. Anderson, 92, formerly of Kindred, ND, and Riverview Place, Fargo, ND, will be held Saturday, February 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. in West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Kindred. Visitation will be Friday at Riverview Place in Fargo from 6-7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in West Prairie Cemetery, rural Kindred. Alice died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, in a Paynesville, MN, hospital.
Alice Anderson was born January 6, 1912, in Christine, ND, to John and Mina (Erstad) Dahl. Alice was raised on various farms in the Kindred and Leonard, ND areas, where she also attended school. She worked for families before marrying William Anderson on October 6, 1934. They farmed in the Kindred area for over 50 years. She moved to Riverview Place in Fargo in October 1990.She lived there until the summer of 2003 when she moved to Washburne Court in Paynesville, MN.
Alice greatly enjoyed her family and friends. She was a member of West Prairie Lutheran Church, served as a Sunday school teacher, held offices in the church?s Women Group, enjoyed making quilts for missions and her family. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Janice (LeRoy) Franck of Dunnell, MN, and Wanda (Richard) Deegan of Paynesville, MN; eight grandchildren, Nancy (Marv) Hansen of Sherburn, MN, Denise (Kevin) Meister of Houston, TX, Keith (Jody) Franck of Dunnell, MN, Larry Franck of Rochester, MN, Lynn (Kevin) Montgomery of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Kerry (Brenda) Deegan of Willmar, MN, Patrick (Melanie) Deegan of Hackensack, MN, and Angie (Tom) Finley of St. Cloud, MN; 15 great grandchildren; and one step great great grandchild. She is also survived by two brothers, Millard (Betty) Dahl of Leonard, ND, and Ernest (Marlene) Dahl, Moorhead, MN; one sister, Norma Jackson of Fargo; three sister-in-laws, Helen Anderson of Fargo, Marion Davis of Glendale, CA, and Esther Anderson of Silverdale, WA; one brother-in-law, LeRoy Anderson of Burbank, CA; one son-in-law, Roland Hunter of Mendota Heights, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mina Dahl; her husband, William Anderson; her daughter, Charlene Hunter; an infant son; two brothers; and three sisters.
