Alice Engen

Alice Irene Engen, age 76, 210 1st Street NW, Hillsboro, ND, died Friday, May 21, 2004, in her home. Alice Irene Benson was born in Hillsboro on May 23, 1927. She was the daughter of Anton and Ida (Malley) Benson. She grew up and attended school in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. After graduation she began working for the Civil Service as a rations clerk. Alice married Arthur Engen on November 21, 1952, in Clifford, ND. The couple made their home in Hillsboro where Alice worked for the Traill County Extension Service for eight years. She then worked for the Traill County ASCS in Hillsboro for 32 years, retiring in 1990. Her husband died in 1977. She is survived by one son, David Arthur Engen of Hillsboro, ND. Visitation: Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held Wednesday in the church one hour prior to services. Funeral: Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro. Arrangements by Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
