Alice Petterson Winter, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Eventide Care Center in Fargo. Alice was born on August 21, 1925 in Wolverton, MN to Anton and Hilda (Berg) Leinum. She was united in marriage to Stewart “Pete” Petterson. They operated the Historic Kegs Drive-In for 21 years in Grand Forks, ND. They spent many years traveling and established a second home in Arizona. Alice loved golfing, fishing, and cooking, but her real passion was painting. In November of 2013 she participated in an art exhibit and took 1st place in the People’s Choice Award.  Stewart passed away in 1997. She met and married Harold Winter in 1999. Alice and Harold loved to golf and fish together, as well as spending time with family. She is survived by her children: Keith (Sue) Petterson, Grand Forks; Sue (Terry) Burns, Richmond, VA; Kim (Loren) Mehlhoff, Fargo; Grandchildren: Craig, Lisa, Cory, Shelby, Justin, and Eric; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd Leinum, Minneapolis, MN; sister, Donna “Dolly” Weigel, Albertville, MN; 6 step-children: Gary (Joanne) Winter; Denny (Linda) Winter; Gayle (Jerry) Popma; Tom Winter; Shelly (Jon) Kozlowski, all of Pipestone, MN; Val Winter, Glenwood, MN; 16 step-grandchildren; 23 great-step grandchildren. Alice is preceded in death by her parents; husband Stewart; sister, Edith; brothers: Andrew, Dennis, Robert and Virgil Leinum. Her second husband, Harold Winter and his son, Bill Winter. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior to services. INTERMENT: 3:30pm Monday at the Vergas City Cemetery, Vergas, MN.
