https://vimeo.com/event/545783 Amanda Colleen Cossette, 35, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND, surrounded by loved ones after suffering a brain aneurysm on Friday. Amanda was born on September 1, 1985 in San Diego, California to Steve and Teri Cossette. The family moved to Fargo in 1989 where Amanda would grow up and continue to live as an adult. “Mandie” as she liked to be called, graduated from the Minnesota State University Moorhead Social Work Program in 2017. Mandie lived with passion and compassion. Her first joy was her four children; Vincent - 13, Tiana - 7, Maia - 3, and Julian - 2. They were her whole world and she theirs. She had great love for her siblings and was a caring and devoted friend. Mandie was a licensed social worker for Lutheran Social Services; working every day to serve her clients and create a better world. She also worked at the Salvation Army after earning her degree, and at the Gladys Ray Shelter in the Detox Center and at the Cooper House Apartments in the process of earning her degree. She was extremely devoted to the work she did and was an empathetic and accepting advocate to the most vulnerable communities in the FM Area. Social justice, equality, equity, and inclusion for all those who might be hurting or disenfranchised was Mandie’s life work and true passion and a legacy her loved ones hope to carry on. She will always be remembered for her honesty, her sharp wit, and her open heart, but most of all she will be remembered as the most dedicated and loving mother many of us will ever hope to meet. Mandie is survived by her children, her parents, her older brothers Jason (Beth), and Andrew (Jess), her younger sister Kelly, her grandparents Bob and Sheryl Hodgson, her godparents Scott and Julie Knodel, all of Fargo, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Mandie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cliff and Blanche Cossette. Visitation will be held at Boulger Funeral Home on December 10th, from 6-7 P.M, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 P.M. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 11th, at 11 A.M. with visitation from 10-11 A.M. at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church, 710 10th Street South, in Fargo. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks that you honor Mandie by making a donation to the Gladys Ray Shelter and Veterans Drop-In Center or The Great Plains Food Bank in her name. You can do so by dropping off or mailing your donation to The Gladys Ray Shelter, 1519 1st Ave S. Fargo, ND 58103 or going to www.greatplainsfoodbank.org. Amanda's Video Tribute can be viewed below:

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I wish I could take away your pain but pain is part of the healing process. May your faith, friends, and memories provide comfort and with time help you find inner peace.

My son Jordan and I recall with fond memories Steve and “little” Vinnie attending his basketball games. Your remarkable family has not only have such a positive impact on my family but on everyone you meet.

May God provide comfort to you and continue to bless your family!

  22. Deepest condolences to the family
I was fortunate to have gotten to know her when we worked in Family Services at The Salvation Army. Amanda was dedicated to service and spoke of her children with great pride. May angels place their wings around you and Her memories heal your heart.

  23. Steve and Terry, How incredibly sad Amanda’s passing is. Thank you for sharing her incredible story. Rip Amanda

  24. I remember when Mandie was pregnant and we had class together and she came straight from work to her classes and she was always late because she would stop at some random gas station and get a bunch of junk food for lunch to eat in class. She was notorious for it and we would just all giggle a little. She sat next to me so sometimes I would steal some if it was something good. I talked to Mandie about a year ago and we talked about her job and she told me the actual details of some of her cases it wasn’t as easy as her title made it sound. I also admired her strength she never gave up. She was 8 months pregnant she didn’t care she was going to get that degree even if it meant eating crap food and being late and then working in one of the hardest social work roles you could work in. Mandie was beyond strong and she never gave up and she loved her kids more than anything in this world. Mandie will be greatly missed and I’m sorry your family and her loved ones are going through this.

  25. I’m so sorry for your loss – I’ll always remember Mandie’s kindness and humor, and how much that meant over the years. She’ll be deeply missed and my thoughts are with her family.

  26. Steve – my heart aches for you. I am so very sorry for your tremendous loss – I cannot imagine the pain. Sending much love and light you way.

  27. Hi Steve and family. I cant say enough how sorry I am for the loss of your daughter, Amanda She looks like a bright spirit and would do so much good for the world. All our heart and prayers go out for you and your family
    Love, the Kathy Casey Witzmann
