Anne F. Severson, 85, of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 7th, 2017 under the care of Hospice of the RRV and her "second family" at Good Samaritan Society assisted living. Anne was born in Valley City, ND on August 25th, 1931 to Florence and Harry W. Nelson.  She attended grade school in Fargo and graduated from Central High School.  She then began nurse's training and in 1952 graduated from The Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fargo.  Anne worked as a nurse in Jamestown, ND before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Richard D. Severson.  Anne and Richard raised their family of six children in their "little house of love" on 22nd Street South in Fargo.  The Fourth of July picnics in their back yard with lots of family, friends and volleyball were parties that Anne looked forward to every year.  They lived in their house for 57 years and in January of 2014 moved to the Good Samaritan Society assisted living facility in Fargo.  Richard passed away in March of 2014, and Anne lived at Good Samaritan until her passing. Anne was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral.  There she taught Sunday School for many years and was on the Altar Guild, on the board for Churches United for the Homeless and the board for the YWCA for many years.  Anne's involvement in the church was something she enjoyed very much and she valued the many friendships that she made through the church. Anne spent most of her life caring for her children and grandchildren.  When Anne had a baby in her arms she was in heaven.  Anyone who met Anne was touched by her kindness and thankfulness.  She talked often about how blessed she was in her life.  Anne was the heart and soul of our family.  She was always there to cheer us on, give us hope, listen to our problems, and make us feel better.  We miss her so much. Anne is survived by her six children, Rick (Pat), El Paso, TX; Ronda, Fargo; David, Apple Valley, MN; Scott (Jill), West Fargo; Rob (Mary), Fargo and Beth, Arlington, TX.  She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren who were her pride and joy.  They are Teresa, Peter, Joey, Christina, Megan, Emily, Kyle, Kody, and Karr Severson; Matt (Janene) Brehmer, Luke Brehmer, Natalie (Zack) Kollman, and Taylor Severson.  She is also survived by her special sister, Di Stenso, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Anne's life will be at 2:00 on Friday, February 17th at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.  Visitation will be one hour before the service.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Anne's name to the Good Samaritan Society Assisted Living facility in Fargo or to Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral in Fargo. Anne's family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley.  They would also like to thank all of the amazing caregivers at Good Samaritan whom Anne considered family, and who always gave her not just good care, but " LOVING  Good Care".  She loved them all so much.  Anne's family is grateful to them and wants to thank them for taking good care of our beautiful, loving mother and grandmother.
