Annie Kathleen Picha

Annie Kathleen (Berndt) Picha, age 95, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Bethany Homes, Fargo. Kathleen was born January 16, 1909 on her parents Chris and Annie (Cannon) Berndt farm in Elma Township near Hankinson, ND. She attended rural grade school there and at an early age came to Fargo to work at various jobs. On September 8, 1942, she was united to Clifford Picha at Abilene, TX. They returned to Fargo to live, where they worked as caretakers in various apartment buildings and also were foster parents to many children. Following Clifford?s death on June 22, 1993, she moved to the Fargo High Rise and then to Bethany Homes in 2000. Kathleen liked tatting, crocheting, and doing fancy work. She has been a charter member to United Methodist Church in Fargo. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Lila Olson, Fargo; two grandsons; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother; one sister; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents, Chris and Annie Berndt; four brothers; and two sisters. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Bethany Homes, Fargo.
